Hi I'm Christine

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Salt Lake City, and now live in Arizona. I have six wonderful children, and 20 amazing grandchildren.

About Me

My greatest hobby is just spending time with my family. We have a large family, and we love to get together to celebrate birthdays and holidays. It gets a little crazy when there are 20 or more people crowded into my house, but the grandkids love to see each other , and it is such a great feeling to know how close they are to each other. I also have a job where I work with my twin sons and my husband, so I spend a lot of time with the people I love so much. In our spare time, my husband and I love to get together with friends and play cards, or go out to the movies or plays. We also enjoy taking our dog out walking every evening. I also enjoy playing the piano and organ, reading, and love going to see our grandkids perform in whatever they are doing. I'm very content with my simple but busy life, and very grateful for every moment I have to be with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised by Mormon parents who taught me so much about loving and serving others by their example. Now that I am a grandmother of 20 (soon to be 21), I look back at my life and realize how much I have been blessed because of my membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The gospel of Jesus Christ teaches me who I am, why I am here on earth, and even what happens after this life. It gives meaning and purpose to my life. It brings me peace and hope, and continually helps me to strive to become a better person. It gives me opportunities to serve and to grow, and there is always so much to learn. We have moved a lot in our life, and wherever we go, we have a new ward family where we serve one another and learn to really love and care about each other. I am grateful I was taught the gospel in my youth, and now I am grateful for the opportunity I have to choose to live the gospel and to follow my Savior, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ with all my heart, and I try to live it every day. I just can't imagine going through life with all its trials without it. As I strive to be worthy of having the companionship of the Holy Ghost every day, I receive so many blessings. I have been comforted in times of pain and sorrow, and I have felt guidance and promptings that have helped me make better choices. When I make mistakes, I know that I can repent and be forgiven, and this brings such peace and comfort. As a member of the church, I have had many opportunities to serve and to grow. I have had callings to teach small children, teenagers, and adults. I have helped cub scout boys earn badges, and gone camping with teen-age girls. I have taught sewing classes to women, and planned ward dinners. Currently I have the calling to play the piano for our ward choir. This is a really fun and rewarding calling for me. Anyone who loves to sing can come, and we have about 25-30 people from age 12 and up, who come every week to practice and then perform for our ward. Music is a great way to bring the Spirit to our meetings. I know throughout my life, beautiful and inspired music has lifted my spirit and strengthened my faith. I t is a great gift to me to be able to share the talents I have been given through music.
