Hi I'm Carrie

I love my family and friends. I enjoy reading. I'm a mother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Arizona. Because it is so hot here I have learned to love anything about the water. I love swimming, going to the beach, going to the lake, etc. I love to read which hasn't always been the case. When I was younger my mother couldn't get me to read a book to save my life. About 5-6 years ago I decided to give it a try, and I have gained a love of reading. I will read just about any genre of book, but my favorite is historical fiction. I have always enjoyed school and learning, so much that I have gone to 5 different colleges! Unfortunately, since I started my family, I have been unable to finish my degree. I have 4 children, 3 girls and 1 boy. My son was born with a disability. We do not know exactly what he has or what his future will look like. It is hard but I trust in my Heavenly Father and His plan. I am grateful for him and for each one of my children. They really help me see the good in the world. I love spending time with my family and friends. They are one of the most important things to me in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I was born into this church. I chose to follow the beliefs I was taught all my life because I love my Savior and I have gained my own testimony of His gospel. I have read and studied and have always been so happy following the Savior's teachings and example. I have been reassured so many times in my life that this is the right path. When I have been down and depressed it isn't long until I feel the warmth of the Savior wrapped around me. I know He lives, that He knows me personally, and that He loves me. I don't know where I would be without that knowledge. It keeps me going. I want to repay Him for all his love and sacrifice by giving my life to Him, by following His gospel. I am grateful that I was lucky enough to have had this knowledge and gift my whole life. I am sad that there are so many people who don't have this gift. I wish I could give it to everyone, and that they would love it, embrace it, and let it change their lives. I know this church is true and I love it with all my heart.

How I live my faith

I hopefully live my faith every single day of my life, in every single thing I do. I try to do what the Savior has asked me to do. I try to teach my children the values of the gospel in their lives. I hope that by example I show them the way towards true happiness. In my ward at church I am the Primary President. I have the responsibility to teach and work with the children ages 3 to 11. I also oversee our Nursery aged children from 18 months to 3. I enjoy working and teaching the children. They are so smart and so loving. I have been serving as President for a little over 2 and a half years. The call came at a particularly difficult time in my life, but I know it was where the Lord wanted me to serve. I have learned so much, and have gotten so much closer to my Savior because of this calling. I have to rely on His Spirit to guide me and direct me in the things that are best for these children. As I teach the children the basics of the gospel and how in simple terms we can return to live with our Father in Heaven, it helps remind me really how basic and simple it is. I love the Primary songs, I feel the spirit every time I sing them. My testimony is strengthened all the time by those sweet children in Primary. I love serving those around me, especially the children.
