Hi I'm Lemuel Bugigi Guluka

Why I am a Mormon

My professional career has included being a Fisheries Statistician, a Systems Engineer, an IT Manager and a Business Analyst. My current interest is in Business Intelligence. I am married to a wonderful woman and we have two sons I am a Mormon because the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true Church. The nice thing about this is that anyone can find out this simple fact for himself / herself. I was very skeptical when I first encountered Mormons and when the missionaries told me about Joseph Smith being a prophet. I thought to myself, "How dense do they think I am". But, oh brother - was I surprised eventually! It was not about Joseph Smith but rather about the Book of Mormon. Once I read it and prayed about it, an amazing thing happened. In spite of my scientific mind (or perhaps because of it), I got to know that Jesus Christ did visit the Nephites on the American continent after his resurrection. It is a somewhat long story but suffice it to say that once I knew the Book of Mormon to be true scripture, I realized that the individual through whom it was made it available to the world had to be a special instrument of God. This made me to know that Joseph Smith was (is) a prophet of God.

How I live my faith

I try to humble myself before God and to do his will. Some of the ways I do this is to be willing to serve the children of God through the assignments that I my have as a priesthood holder. I work hard at loving other people especially those that make it hard love. I have found that when I get to know people, each is really lovable and quite lovely. I have much interest in supporting families. Any support I can give to parents who are raising children is worth every minute spent. Why? Because parents are in the business of raising the children of God and building His kingdom on the earth. Children are our real future. When they are taught the correct principles and morals, they will be able to sustain a bright world when we have moved on to our next world. I enjoy home teaching and supporting the Spiritual and Temporal welfare of those in our ward boundaries.

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

Lemuel Bugigi Guluka
We believe the Bible to be the word of God in as much as it is interpreted correctly. Among other things, it contains the God's dealings with the Children of Isreal in the "Old World" meaning Palestine and surrounding areas. Our whole Church is about the Lord Jesus Christ and his sacrifice for us all. The Old Testament talks about prophets who predicted his coming to the earth. The New Testament talks about his mortal life on the earth. It makes sense that we would believe in this set of scriptures. We are the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Actually it is the restored Church complete with all the principles that the Lord taught when he was on the earth. Some of those principles had been distorted through the ages and it became necessary for a restoration to be made. This is why God the Eternal Father and His Son Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith. Show more Show less
