Hi I'm Mark

I have lived in many countries in the world. I am an electrical engineer and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ - a Mormon.

About Me

I have worked for over 25 years in computer design and programming. My favorite people to be around are my wonderful wife and daughters. I was raised by loving parents who helped me learn of God, develop a relationship with Him, and learn to have confidence in myself. When I can make the time I love to backpack, bake bread, and split firewood.

Why I am a Mormon

I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because its teachings have consistently led me to joy and the blessings it teaches will come always have come when I have been patient and diligent. This church teaches me to find things out for myself and to not just rely on the words of others to know of God, what He would have me do, and what I should believe. It also teaches me that we are all brothers and sisters, loved equally by God, and all struggling to overcome personal challenges here on Earth. It also gives me hope, by teaching me that Jesus Christ has made it possible for all of us to overcome any challenge, weakness, or addiction and be pure, strong, and whole. I have prayed to God and believe these teachings are from Him, and are the best path forward for joy in this life and for the eternities to come.

How I live my faith

Work with the youth in our church group to try to help them grow up with hope, joy, and success. It is a great privilege for me to learn from them as I spend time with them in classrooms, working together on service project, and being outdoors. I also work with several older people in our area, some of whom are disabled, to make sure that their basic needs, as well as their needs for friendship are being met. Being active in our local congregation gives me many opportunities to help and be helped, which is a great benefit to me and my family.
