Hi I'm Ricky

I am a Computer Programmer, father for three girls, a husband, and a graduate student at ASU, plus I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a busy person who tries to keep a good life balance with work, serving in church, wife and kids, keeping the house together, the car working, etc. The hardest part about being so busy is trying to find time to relax.

Why I am a Mormon

I've grown up in the church and I've witnessed many of the wonderful things that the church has done. When I stop to think of all the great things that the church has done through out the world, I am in awe. I can hardly comprehend the positive effect that the church has had on millions of people. It is great. To me, being a Mormon means serving and helping people like Jesus Christ did and like He wants us to do. It makes me feel more peaceful and it is a rock to cling to in a world that seems to be getting more crazy all the time. This makes me feel honored to be a member. I have learned for myself that the church is true, that the Lord Jesus Christ lives and that He loves all of us. I have learned this by reading and studying the scriptures, trying to apply them to my life, and also by feelings in my heart that tell me it is true.

How I live my faith

The beliefs I have help me live every part of my life. They give me stability, direction, and hope. Being a Mormon is the greatest opportunity and responsibility I have. That is what helps me know what is good and what is bad. For example, I know how to raise my kids to be happy in life and to prepare for the next life with their Father in Heaven. I know to teach them about being honest and true. That makes all of us happier. Joseph Smith taught that happiness is the object and design of our existence. The better I am at living as a good Mormon, the happier I feel, so I keep trying to do better every day.
