Hi I'm Ali

I love people, design, and exploring the world! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an empathetic idealist. I love music, the great outdoors, and the spontaneity of life. AH! Most of all, I love self expression and encourage all those around me to do it! I am working towards my Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design at the Georgia Institute of Technology. My driving passion for art, science, and service has led me to travel the world as well as assist my local community in the pursuit of helping others with humanitarian design through applied technologies. I'm inspired by the beautiful, unique individuals I encounter daily. Give me a turkey sandwich, an ukulele, and a day at the beach with my family and I'll have a smile on my face for weeks.

Why I am a Mormon

I love being happy. Nothing brings me greater joy than the blessings I receive from being a faithful Mormon. Being a light of Christ helps me to see the brightness present in everyone and everything around me. It uplifts me and gets me through even the hardest of days. Through the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I have been able to relate to so many people of different backgrounds, cultures, and beliefs. Without the fullness of the Gospel I would have never been able to embrace as many meaningful relationships with such unique sons and daughters of Heavenly Father. I like freedom. Being Mormon and following the teachings of Christ has filled me with the knowledge, love, and capacity to experience and perceive the world in boundless ways. I believe it is the way our Father in Heaven wants us to see it. Life is a blank canvas, and through keeping God's commandments we are able to fill it with the most vivid colors and images that we could ever imagine! I live for truth. Only the true church of Jesus Christ could keep this girl feeling as free, loved, comforted, intrigued, and hopeful as I do all the time. God lives and God loves us. Jesus Christ is our Lord and Redeemer whom He sent to Atone for our sins. It is only through Him that we can have eternal life and salvation. His painting is a masterpiece!

How I live my faith

I live to love. The first thing I do when I wake up in the morning is think about how I am going to live this day better than the last. Then, I try my best to live like Christ and keep the standards of the Church. No matter what situation I find myself in, or decisions I encounter, I always remember who I truly am... a daughter of God. As a college student I have to define my priorities so that I make sure I'm living the way God wants me to live. I have to put His work above everything else and then the friendships, schoolwork, sleep, activities, and meetings all seem to fall in to place. It really is amazing! I have also found that if I spend at least five minutes every day thinking about someone besides myself, then I form a better understanding for them and can cater to their needs. This has been especially helpful while serving as President for the Georgia Tech LDS Student Association. I've been able to find happiness through serving others and a fulfillment that nothing else in this world can bring than when putting others first. This year I have been blessed with the opportunity to attend the Temple every Saturday morning to serve God's children in another realm. It brings a peace and calmness that permeates throughout my entire week and has strengthened my relationships with my family, my friends, and the Lord. I am grateful for the many ways Heavenly Father has allowed me to live daily in a way to glorify Him, serve His children, and strengthen my own testimony in order to live one day with Him again.
