Hi I'm Robin

I'm a single parent, a teacher and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a school teacher and have been teaching on and off whilst raising 3 children. Due to the death of my husband to cancer, I became a single parent and now work full time. Life is hectic but enjoyable. I don't actually have time for hobbies and interests right now but I enjoy spending time with my kids and feeling success when I have managed to cook healthy meals and keep the house reasonably tidy (not usually all accomplished in the one week!!) I love travelling and have been to America and Europe. I love Australia's natural beauty and have enjoyed seeing many of its wonders.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My father was a member and my mother joined when I was very young. They always encouraged us kids to gain a good education and to make our own personal spiritual enquiries. I remember church members reminding us youth to actually read the scriptures and ask the Lord what He wanted us to do. I always believed in God and when I learnt about God's plan for us all, I felt it was right - one plan, one purpose for all of His children here on earth. Over the years I have listened to the latter day prophet and his apostles. Whenever I listen to them I know they are righteous men who encourage us to be like the Saviour and serve Him with all our hearts. You can feel of their goodness. I believe the Lord answers the prayers of all those who diligently seek him.

How I live my faith

At the moment I serve with two other women at church as leaders of the various chapels for the women's program. Our main role is to support the charitable program set up by the church in administering relief - both physical and spiritual and encouraging self-reliance among the women so that they can, in turn, share this knowledge with their families. I feel that Australians have been blessed with so much living here, our family sponsors a child in Mongolia through a community-based program. My main focus is my service at home - encouraging loving, sharing communication between all members of the family and trying to extend those feelings to our neighbours, friends, and extended famiy.
