Hi I'm Kody

I live in Idaho, I am studying Optometry, I love Dr. Who, I am currently serving as a missionary in Sweden, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

Well, just like you, I'm a pretty normal guy; I studied at Brigham Young University of Idaho, I love classic television and movies (and a good radio show every now and then), classic books, scuba diving, and skydiving. Perhaps most of all, however, I love learning and teaching, expanding my knowledge of the universe and the people in it. Right now I really get the chance to do the last two, as I am currently serving as a missionary in Sweden. It's not easy: My Swedish isn't the best, and sometimes teaching takes a greater knowledge than I have, but it's fantastic. Oh yeah, and I'm a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have felt the power of Christ's atonement and love in my own life. I have had the knowledge of God and His plan whispered into my heart, and I know it is true. When I learn of the structure of the universe and the grandeur of the cosmos, I see the majesty of God's power, and know that He is there, standing over me and all His creations. I bear my testimony that I know that Christ can save anyone through baptism and repentance, that the power of atonement washes ALL sins; I testify that His love will fill your life with purpose and strength, and that if you seek it honestly and diligently, you will receive it, and will be able to get through all trials. I say these things in the name of my Savior, Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in several ways; I serve as a missionary, and as an example of the believers. Sometimes the best way to teach is to practice what you preach; while I'm not perfect at it, I really aim at teaching people more through my actions than through my words. That doesn't mean I don't talk about the gospel, however. As a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints, I have the fantastic opportunity to spend all day, every day talking to those interested in what I believe and explaining how the Gospel of Christ can heal any sorrow, lift through any trial, and give a greater joy than anything else. Sometimes I'm asked why it is I'm here in Sweden, when I could be at home studying or "living my life". I simply tell people that I have learned for myself that this Gospel is true, and that it's something I want everyone to get a chance to hear!
