Hi I'm Robin Brooksby

I grew up in Fredonia, Arizona, and am now eligible to retire from the Army Reserve. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

After graduating from college I was commissioned in the USAF, but due to the draw-down of the military after the end of the Viet Nam War, I was not promoted and was discharged. Then after the terrorist attack on 9-11- 2001 I decided to enlist in the US Army Reserve. So I've served in the military over 34 years and will be retiring in May 2012. My wife, whom I married in 1980, and I have 6 children and with two of them married, we have 3 grandchildren. The outdoors have always been a retreat for my family while I was growing up and when our children were small. Our children all love to swim and play in the water. O

Why I am a Mormon

There are few things in this world that are unchanging. The Gospel of Jesus Christ doesn't change. It is so hard to find stability in the world. The church has provided that sure foundation. Ephesians 2:19-20 states that Christ's church will have a foundation of apostles and prophets, with Jesus as the chief cornerstone.Living prophets who are inspired by Heavenly Father to teach us and warn us of coming difficulties have given me hope and direction in raising our family.

How I live my faith

I serve in the church as a counselor to the the Bishop, the leader of our congregation. We meet together often to organize the affairs of the congregation and direct its youth programs. It has been a wonderful experience. Seeing the members support and assist each other, and being in a position to martial support on needful occasions has been very rewarding. I'm trying to serve as the Savior's hands on the earth until he returns.
