Hi I'm April

I'm a Mormon. I'm a mother and a newborn baby photographer!

About Me

I am number two of six girls in my family. I was born and raised in Utah. I have lived in AZ. for 17 years now. I'm a mother of four beautiful and talented children. They bring me such joy and happiness. This by far has been my biggest accomplishment and reward in life. I also have one beautiful granddaughter. I'm blessed to work with newborn babies every day as a photographer and be a part of their 1st day of life. I love boating, horseback riding, biking, going to movies, the beach, and spending time with family and friends. I love to travel and see new places.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a Mormon. It has always been right for me. I continue to live my life according to the teachings of my Savior, Jesus Christ. Through the teachings of my Savior I feel peace and certainty in an otherwise uncertain world. I remember my baptism day and feeling that warm and peaceful feeling that comes from that special ordinance. I will never forget that. I am grateful to still feel that peace and sweet comfort in my life today. The gospel plan brings me so much joy and hope for the future. I have had my share of ups and downs. I have even experienced deep heartache and loss. In a changing world the teachings of my Savior are constant and never changing. They are solid and keep me focused and safe in my life's journey. I have a strong belief that my testimony and my Savior are both something that cannot be taken away from me as I live worthily. I'm reminded constantly especially when faced with trials that my Father in Heaven is always there for me. He knows me by name and is aware of my needs as well as all his children. He wants what is best for me and I feel his love through heavenly and earthly angels. I have witnessed many tender mercies and am eternally grateful.

How I live my faith

I attend church weekly and look forward to feeling peace from the otherwise hectic and fast paced world. I teach Sunday School to the adult men and women of my ward. (also called Gospel Doctrine) I love my calling to teach and the opportunity it gives me to study and learn on so many levels. It gives me an opportunity to grow. I am very thankful for visiting and home teachers. I have a strong testimony that these sisters and brothers are in tune with our Heavenly Father and can and have been earthly angels in my life. It is very comforting to know there is someone there whenever they are needed. Literally a phone call away. Serving and helping others is key to being a happier person. I believe that we all need each other to succeed in this earthly life. I attend the temple each month and look forward to the peace I feel unlike anywhere else I have experienced. I try to be an example to others and be someone my Heavenly Father and Savior would be proud of.

What is the priesthood?

April
The priesthood is a very special gift from our Father in Heaven that worthy males can receive by obeying the commandments and staying close to our Father in Heaven. It has the ability to comfort those who are going through hard or perplexed situations. It can also heal the sick and be a comfort before going through any major ordeals. Father's blessings are also a wonderful comfort before children are starting school or any other important life events. The worthy male giving the blessing has the ability to be inspired of what to say to the recipient through the power of the Holy Ghost. This has helped me numerous times and has been a tremendous blessing in my life. Show more Show less
