Hi I'm Jon

I enjoy fishing and have salmon and halibut fished off the coast of Vancouver Island every summer for 23 years. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and enjoy hunting and fishing. I like spending time on the water and in the woods and being part of nature. It helps me to appreciate what a wonderful world God had given us to live on and care for. My idea of a perfect day is sitting around the picnic table sharing fresh caught crab and salmon with friends and family. I have been blessed with a wonderful family. I married my high school sweetheart and we have been together for 28 years. I have 3 children. They are great and I am very proud of them.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed that when I was born my parents were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My parents were a great example to me. They raised my to apprecaite hard work and the importance of making God part of my life. Membership in the church has always been important to me. I know that God lives and that we are here for a purpose and that there will be more after we leave this mortal existance. I know that through obediance to the commandments of God we will not only be blessed in this life but also in the life to come.

How I live my faith

I have been very active in my community. When my children were younger I was able to help coach several of their sport teams. I also enjoyed the time I spent serving in the Boy Scouts. We had alot of fun working on merit badges and camping. The Boy Scouts of America really is a fine institution that teaches young men to be self reliant and to appreciate God and country. I am proud to say that both of my sons are Eagle Scouts and know they are men for it.
