Hi I'm Amanda.

I'm a dreamer, a literature aficionado, a high school English teacher, and a mother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Who am I? I am ...an English teacher who loves math just as much as reading and writing. ...a mother who learns so much more from my children than they ever learn from me. ...a wife who admires her husband's confidence and faith. ...an avid reader of fiction, both classic and contemporary. ...an aspiring writer looking for that one golden story just asking to be told. ...a daughter who wants to be just like her mother some day. ...a lover of dance, music, and theatre. ...me! :)

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I choose to be. I grew up influenced by a wide range of religious systems. As a person firmly grounded in reality, I questioned them all. When I first encountered Mormonism, I requested the missionary discussions so that I could learn more about it to "satisfy my intellectual curiosity." As I learned of the gospel, the doctrines and principles made so much sense. What initially was a fact-finding mission became a soul-saving reality. I gained a testimony of the gospel through study and prayer. When I felt ready, I chose to be baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I asked my questions, and I received my answers. I know this gospel to be true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day in the choices that I make. That I know this gospel to be true profoundly affects my thoughts, words, and actions. Who I am speaks more to my faith than any description could. At church, I teach Sunday School...learning more about the scriptures with every class discussion. It is a calling that I love!
