Hi I'm Michael

I am a teacher and coach sports. I enjoy volunteer work with the Boy Scouts, gardening, reading American History. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My life is all about family. My wife is one of five and so am I, when you add to that our six children, spouses, grandchildren, nieces, nephew, parents and a whole mess of friends, my home is a happen place. The average crowd for dinner could be two to 25 on any given day. Both my wife and I are teachers by profession and love to work with young people. I coach football, basketball and track at school. I enjoy volunteer work with the Boy Scouts, gardening, the great outdoors, reading American History.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church by wonderful parents who were converts. All my friends and extended family were members of other faiths during my formative years. By attending church with my parents growing up and visiting other faiths Sunday’s service with friends I had questions about with church was true. After a great deal scripture searching and prayer, I experienced the same sweet conversion experience my parents had experienced so many years earlier. I knew that Jesus Christ loved me. I had a witness that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was the true restored church on the earth. I also knew that he had established his church upon the earth again with a modern day prophet and apostles.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day. Every day begins with a prayer and end with a prayer. Living my faiths principals helps keep me grounded and my priorities focused on living a Christ like life. Reading the scriptures every day also helps to keep me focused on living a Christ centered life. I have served in many organizations in the church. Currently I am serving in the Bishopric of our ward/congregation. The bishopric is charged with the overall administration of the congregations spiritual activities and programs.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Mormons do not worship Joseph Smith. This is a false and common mistake among people who know little about the Mormon church. We as members acknowledge him as a great modern day Prophet. We worship God our Eternal Father and his son Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
