Hi I'm Ammon

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am in my early twenties and love my life. I come from a great family and have the best brothers and sisters that anyone can ask for. As a child I moved around the world very frequently and was able to see different countries and states. I served a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints which consists of two years away from family serving the Lord by helping others. I served in the Florida Tallahassee Mission I learned so much about God, myself, and gained so many friends in that two year time. I was just recently married/ sealed in the Rexburg Idaho temple to my best friend, this experience is the crowning event of my life. I love camping, running, swimming, weight lifting, cooking, guitar, ukelele and dutch oven cooking. I enjoy learning about anything, and anybody, but I particularly enjoy learning about the human body. I am currently studying biology and hope to be in a career field where I will be able to help other people everyday.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints but like everyone I needed to gain my understanding and knowledge that God exists, and that His son Jesus Christ lives. My family is very active in the church so I attended church every Sunday. I always felt as a child and in my youth that God was real. In my youth I wanted a stronger conviction and a "witness" that the Book of Mormon was true and that the Church was Jesus Christ's. I don't remember how old I was but I do remember on a few occasions praying and asking our Heavenly Father for a sign that the Book of Mormon was true. I was looking for something BIG a vision... or something. Then someday somewhere I was just reading the Book of Mormon and thinking about Christ and I just had the feeling of peace. I knew the Book of Mormon was true because I had always felt good about it, and whenever I read from it I always had a good feeling. I realized that I didn't need a vision to know the Book of Mormon was true because I had always felt good about it in the first place and knew that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is led by Christ. I feel peace every time I read from the Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon has taught me so much about the Savior Jesus Christ. I know that Christ lives and that he atoned for our sins. I am so thankful for His redeeming power and also for his enabling powers. I know we can accomplish anything through Christ. He has felt every pain, sorrow, affliction of everybody who has lived on the earth, and will live on the earth. The dearest thing to my heart are the temples of God. In these houses of God we can be sealed to our family our loved ones for all time and for all eternity. God loves us so much that He wants us to be with our family here on earth, and in the life to come. I feel peace in the temple and know the temples are of God.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith everyday. The things I do each day that help me connect to God is prayer morning and night individually and with my wife. I read everyday from the scriptures the Bible, and Book of Mormon individually and also with my wife. Reading the scriptures especially the Book of Mormon with my wife is one of the highlights of my day. We both glean so much from its pages and learn how to become better spouses for each other. There is power in the Book of Mormon that brings peace to the home and peace in a marriage. I attend church every Sunday and love it this is a time to serve others and feel Christs power. I try to look out everyday of who I can help and who I can serve. I have had great experience in my life seeking to serve others. Service for others defines a Christian.
