Hi I'm Rinda Evans

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in America's Heartland. I'm a paraducator.

About Me

I'm the mother of 6, grandmother of 7. I've been married for 33 years. I consider that a great achievement! After living on the West coast for 15 years, we were able to move back to the Midwest where we currently live in the 100 year old two-story house I grew up in (which is fun!) About 6 years ago we had a house fire in which the origin was never determined. It was on a Sunday morning. We were attending church when I got the devistating call from my neighbor. Our family and so many friends immediately left to find firetrucks parked in front of the house. We were so concerned as we have 40 stairs just to get to the front door! When were finally allowed to enter our home, it was a surreal feeling. It reminded me of watching a deep underwater ocean documentary on the remains of the Titantic. We were told that we were fortunate that we were just five minutes away from 'flash point' when the house could have exploded. The outside of my childhood home still looks the same. The inside had to be re-done. I learned so any lessons from that experience. We were all safe because we were where we were supposed to be when the fire occured. I learned that photos can be washed (which was a huge blessing). I was also so greatful that I had shared my recipes through the years because my friends were able give them back to me.

Why I am a Mormon

I have chosen to be a member of the Church because it feels like 'home'. We even call each other brother and Sister. The Church gives me so many helps as a parent and grandparent. I know that our family associations will continue after this life and that Heaven wouldn't be Heaven without those we love. The material things I lost in the fire are not important. My faith in My Savior has been my strength throughout the 'fires' or storms in my life. We go through experiences for a reason and I know that the Lord continues to teach me through all of life's lessons, whether good or not so good. The blessings of His gospel will ALWAYS out weigh any adversity. Through following the Lord's annointed Priesthood leaders in these latter days, I will always be able to weather the 'fires' in my life..!

How I live my faith

On Sundays I am blessed to be able to teach the children Music from ages 3 to 11 the music is made especially for them. The doctrines are sweet, simple and pure. It's pure joy to see them sing and learn about Christ and his teachings through song. I get to use some creativity as I present a new song for them. Each year the children provide an entire Sacrament meeting for the congregation. We are currently in the process of preparing for that special occasion. What a treat and a huge boost of a blessing to have these children sing to us. The Savior loves little children so much. How important it is to teach them through music as it can enter their hearts and they will be able to remember just how special they are..We have a song called 'I Am a Child of God' which is so special as it teachs the children that their Heavenly Father has sent them to earth and we
