Hi I'm Travis

I grew up in beautiful North Idaho, married the woman of my dreams, enjoy my five great kids, love skiing, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I married the woman of my dreams. What more is there to say about that! I love the lakes, mountains, and snow of North Idaho. I enjoy spending time with my family going waterskiing or snowskiing, doing some camping, watching movies, and just hanging out. With five kids in grade school through high school, someone is always headed somewhere. Seems like there is always a party going on around our place. It's fun. I feel fortunate to have a job I really enjoy. I work with great people, making products that better peoples lives. Like any business there is more to do than time or resources, so we really pull together as a team to make it all happen.

Why I am a Mormon

Everyone has a point during their life when their faith is tested/challenged and you either commit all the way or move on. I had that happen to me when I was a teenager. I read the Bible and the Book of Mormon and was taught the principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I saw the many religions and interpretations of faith all around me. I was questioned by my friends at school and I questioned it myself. So I got down on my knees and prayed to my Heavenly Father to know if this was His church. I felt the Holy Ghost witness to me in a way I can not deny, that it is true. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the restored gospel, will bring happiness in this life, and provides the way to return to live with God again one day.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day and in every way. It is truely a part of who I am. I make mistakes all the time, but find solace in learning from those mistakes and developing a truly repentant heart. The church provides opportunities to serve and to help others. I enjoy participating with my kids in youth programs that teach them important values, in both serious and fun settings. I'm active in community events and especially Boy Scouts. I learned so much and enjoyed my experience in Boy Scouts as a youth and now have an opportunity to give back. We have helped the boys write job resumes for their first job, learn to survival camp, find constellations, develop leadership skills, and on and on. My kids participate in competitive sports, so you'll always find my wife and I in the stands. I love the competition and seeing the kids exert themselves in developing skills and performing. Sometimes the parents get a little carried away in their "discussions with the officials." I try to live my faith by being a good sport myself. Doesn't mean I don't get frustrated sometimes, but try to set a good example of sportsmanship from the sidelines. Again, my faith guides me in everything I do. It's not just on Sunday when I'm at church, it's who I am.
