Hi I'm Becky

I am a vegetarian native of Washington State. I am a mezzo soprano with a teaching degree and family of six. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Washington state, and grew up on islands in the Puget Sound. In college, I studied to be an educator and musician, and have a love for teaching and singing. My husband and I have four beautiful children, and are experiencing now, the pain and joy of parenting.

Why I am a Mormon

Though I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, by loving and faithful parents, there came a time in my life when I could no longer rely on the faith of my parents, but had to stand on my own faith. When I went away to university, I was on my own for the first time in my life. I had to deal with all of the stressful things of being independent, going to school, and navigating through the college experience, and I learned to really pray. I depended on the Lord to help me get through and by doing so, gained a better understanding of Him, of myself in His eyes, and a relationship with Him. Prayer has not failed me to today, and I'm grateful that He listens and answers.

How I live my faith

Service has become a love of my life. I first learned to serve through youth group activities in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Through service to others, I feel the love of Heavenly Father. Some of the church service I have been blessed to be a part of has been teaching children, teaching adults, directing church choir, and lending help to missionaries. I also do my part in visiting women in my area who are assigned to me, to visit and help. I have a family who appreciates reading and literacy, and we help to raise funds for literacy support in our community.
