Hi I'm Alan Casey

I am a Australian Entertainment Agent, Musician, DJ, Wedding MC, Speaker & Trainer and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My work is my hobby - I get the opportunity to work with a lot of people with great talents plus meet with people from all over Australia and the World. I enjoy working with family’s at the most special times of their lives, weddings, family celebrations etc. Plus meet with the best in business and corporate managers and leaders with events and festivals etc. I enjoy expanding the bounds of quality entertainment to all people. I am married; With Children & Grandchildren. I love music, dancing, movies, golf, shooting, photography, water, and drives in the car, picnics, playing games, friends, meeting people and especially my family. I thrive on hard work although not heavy work. I enjoy life and all its demands. My Dad was a musician and a band leader; hence I followed in his footsteps learning music at a young age. I have played in many bands, taught music, worked selling music instruments, owned my own music store, co-ordinated marketing and promotions within the music industry, worked as a DJ, marketing entertainment consultant, musicians club organizer, music clinitician, plus over 30+ years as a Entertainment Agent. Recently in the last 5 years I have had the chance to visit schools and youth groups talking about the music industry + working as a Judge in a variety of festivals and talent quests and also as a professional Wedding MC. I enjoy people and all that they are and do in life.

Why I am a Mormon

We met 2 Mormon missionaries who visited my home. I love people and invited them in. We were a young married couple with 1 son. They visited and began to teach us about the restoration of the gospel. I was brought up as part of the Church of England. My Father was a religious man my Mother was not. I believed in God but I did not believe in any church. As a boy I attended church with my dad at different times. I had some questions that no one in other faiths I had met could answer. My wife was much the same, we believed in God but not so in churches. As the missionaries visited they began to teach us. We began to experience a great change. They had answers to our questions + my mind was opened to much more. We found what they taught to be logical - It made good sense with none of this religious mumbo jumbo. Plus we could not only understand it was right, we had actual feelings that it was right. Having worked in the entertainment Industry, smoking was a natural habit to pick up. By the time I met the Mormon missionaries I had become a very heavy smoker. I had tried to give them up a number of times with no success, each time becoming a horrible person in the attempt. During the time that the missionaries were teaching us and introducing us to the Lords restored church; they challenged me to give away the cigarettes, this was now my time of truth, at first I was reluctant but it felt so good around these guys so after our meeting on the same day they challenged me. I travelled to work at a music studio, on arriving in the car park, I reached for my cigarettes, I thought about all that I was learning and the feelings of truth I was receiving. I asked myself, do I believe in this restored gospel and church was true. My answer was YES. I tossed the cigarettes out the window of the car - I did not have any withdrawals - I did not need or want cigarettes. I received a small miracle in my life. We became Mormons, members of the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

How I live my faith

First I try to hold no boundaries in my life, no prejudices. I am open to all I meet, young, old, poor, rich, all races, all creeds, all levels from the high in office to the low in station. I have had to work very hard in my life and I have found many people are willing to extend a hand of friendship and Love. I am not a member of any community help group. I just run across someone who needs a word of encouragement or needs a Job or some help at home or work whatever and I give them a helping hand if I can. I try to live a life similar to the good Samaritan who came across someone in need and did what he could and then went on his way. I look for those who are overlooked in the crowd. Faces that are alone and a little lost. I had the privilege of training as a counsellor for Life Line. It was excellent, but unluckily due to family commitments I was unable to continue with them. Life is hard and it can beat us all down, we need to be aware of each other, stand together as friends and neighbours, watching out for each other in our daily life. I have been blessed to meet many who are better than I at this. I try to emulate our Lord and Saviour with a Christlike love. I am not perfect and times I am frustrated, angry etc. But as a wise man once said "You haven’t failed until you quit trying. So I continue to keep trying. May Gods love and Blessings be with us all. May we look to the Lord as our example! If we look to good persons this is helpful but every person has faults. Therefore I try to keep my eyes focused on our Lords example. Ask myself would the Lord do or say this. If not then maybe I should not do or say it. I try to not judge a book by its cover. I want to open to all that is good. To learn from the good and put aside the bad, This is my Goal and hopefully the way I live my life of faith.

Why is self-reliance important to Mormons? Why do Mormons talk about emergency preparedness?

Alan Casey
If we fail to plan, we plan to fail. If I am going to be of assistance to my fellow man I need to be able to first take care of myself and my family. I am unable to lift another beyond where I myself am standing. How can I live a life of a Good Samaritan if I am not prepared financially as well as spiritually? It is with this thought that I work and apply myself in having food and facilities etc in case of emergencies. Emergencies come in many forms. We all have the opportunity to help others. To share our homes, our food, our physical and spiritual support to those who need it. No matter by whom or by what circumstance that may befall them. Show more Show less

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

Alan Casey
I have been married 40 years. It has not been easy, to be exact at times it has been heartbreaking, while at other times fabulous and the best. I have found marriage to be greatest journey in life. I can testify in times when all seems at a end and with no sight of peace and happiness. I have found my faith in God to guide me through. His example of enduring to bear all suffering in love for us has kept us going, placing one foot in front of the other until we can see our way and regain strength in our marriage and a renewal of love for each other. I have taken some time to learn and practice the skills of being a good husband and companion to my wife. God encourages us to love one another, to put others above ourselves, to share and care for each other. These skills are best practiced in marriage. Service is best practiced in the home, expressions of love, giving up oneself in love and companionship. This is what I have been taught by God. My faith in him has strengthened my faith and love for my wife. My wife is my best friend and I enjoy her company and conversation above any other. A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person. Marriage is a empty bin. It remains empty unless you put in more than you take out. Show more Show less

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Alan Casey
An ancient prophet declared "all things denote there is a God; yea even the earth". Children are my witness that there is a God. The beauty of life, The goodness and innocence of a child. Look and listen to a child and you can see God. Look at nature, the land, the animals, the heavens and all that is around you. Yes there is a God. Many say how can God exist with all the evil and horror in the world. We are the creators of the evil and horror. We are the ones who will not listen or obey our Heavenly Fathers love and teachings. We need to look to God and his directions and change our lives and help others to change theirs, rather than denying Gods existence because of our misbehaviour and foolishness. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Alan Casey
Yes I do. Since the beginning of time God has spoken through great prophets, Adam, Noah, Moses, Solomon, John the Baptist etc. Our Heavenly Father has always spoken and reached out to his children through all ages. He has not stopped speaking to us by his chosen prophets. If we are not hearing his words of love and encouragement it is because we are not listening not because he has discontinued to speak to us. As in days past the Lord has placed on the earth prophets & apostles who speak the true word of God. I invite you to come and listen, judge for your self. Pray and ask if what is being presented and taught is true and from God. God the father of us all will then confirm that what you hear is true. Its up to you, you decide, we invite you to come and listen to a prophets voice! Show more Show less
