Hi I'm Bob Partridge

I wrote my first computer program when I was a senior in college and have been fascinated with them ever since. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband, a father and a grand father. I have 6 children and 4 grand children. I have the privilege of serving with my dear wife as a missionary in Samoa. I am a computer consultant and travel around the country working with large companies and government organizations. I started out my working life as an accountant but spent most of my time writing programs on the computer that made my job easier. I enjoy running, walks with my wife, yard work, home improvement and woodworking projects. My most recent creation was a custom end table with a drawer for magazines, one for remote controls and one for the keyboard for my entertainment center. It was good enough that my wife even lets me use it in the house.

Why I am a Mormon

My ancestors joined the Church during the early 1800's and so I was raised a Mormon. I had to decide for myself if the Church was true. I did this through studying Book of Mormon, attending Church, and praying. I have also studied the Bible and other scriptures. A favorite scripture found in the Book of Mormon, Moroni 10:5 says "And by the power of Holy Ghost you may know the truth of all things." The Holy Ghost has born witness to me that we that the Church is true. We do have living prophets in our day to help us to know what Heavenly Father wants us to do.

How I live my faith

Some co-workers once asked me how I managed to stay married to the same woman for over 30 years. I quoted them part of a song our children sing in Church. "Try to show kindness in all that you do." Whenever times get a little rough I remember this phrase and it works! I have tried to do this with all the people I come in contact with. One of my most enjoyable callings has been to serve in one of our Temples as a worker. I also serve in my ward as a clerk.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Bob Partridge
I met a man, while serving as a missionary, that claimed I didn't know there was a God. I told him I could tell God existed because I could feel his influence. He said "But you can't see him." I asked "Can you see the wind?" He said "No." I asked him, "How do you know it's there?" He replied, "Because I can feel it." I told him that even though I haven't seen God I know he is there because I can feel his influence and love in my life. Show more Show less
