Hi I'm Vanessa

I'm the oldest of 5 girls. I'm a basketball coach, a student, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the oldest of 5 girls and I love my family. I played college basketball and now am enjoying the game on a different level and coaching. I love the outdoors, music, spending time with friends and family, and reading a good book every now and then. I recently returned home from serving a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Washington Spokane Mission. I love the gospel. It has changed my life. I love my Savior, Jesus Christ. I will stand as a witness of Him at all times, in all things, and in all places. I love my life and the people in mine.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 17 years old, I read the Book of Mormon for the first time. Although, I had grown up going to church every Sunday with my family and learning about who God was, it wasn't until I read the Book of Mormon that I came to better understand who I was to God. The Book of Mormon truly is another testament of Jesus Christ. His name is found on every page of that book. It's soul purpose is to bring us closer to Him and to help us learn more of His attributes, His love, and infinite atoning sacrifice. I know that the Book of Mormon is true, and because I have that sure witness I cling tight to that testimony and strive to live the gospel of Jesus Christ to it's fullest. I know that God is my Heavenly Father and that I am His daughter. I know that He loves me and that is why He sent His only Begotten Son to suffer and die for me. I choose to follow His teachings because they have brought me more happiness than I could have ever found anywhere else. When other sources cease to make us whole, only He can heal our hearts and bring us the peace and hope we are all searching for. I know that He lives and I will boldly declare His name every day of my life and through the eternities.

How I live my faith

As mentioned earlier, I recently returned home from serving a full-time mission. Serving the Lord for those 18 months changed my life. I've felt God's love for His children in a very real and Christlike way as I've shared the restored gospel of Jesus Christ with all those who would listen. I left on my mission to bless the lives of others and to make a difference, but in return my life was enriched and blessed so much and the biggest difference was made in me. I experienced my own conversion to the Savior as I declared His name to the amazing people of Washington. Now that I am home, I am anxiously engaged in striving to serve all those around me and in my ward. I enjoy working with the youth and being a positive role model for them and especially for the girls that I coach. I love sharing my testimony with others and I believe the best way to do so is by my example. Who I am can and will change lives, as long as I continue to live in a way that invites all to come unto Christ.
