Hi I'm Judy

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a retired attorney who now enjoys traveling and house remodeling. I have only been retired for two years but I've traveled to Paris, Barcelona and Rome as well as states between Texas and British Columbia, Canada and between Texas and Madison, Wisconsin. As far as remodeling, I've scraped "popcorn" off the ceiling, painted walls and doors and upholstered chairs. I love Classical music and rock and roll. My husband and I have six children, scattered from Washington State, to New Meixco to Wisconsin to Louisiana to the District of Columbia. I've done smart things and I've done dumb things. The smartest thing I ever did was to join the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints some 32 years ago. I won't tell you the dumbest thing I ever did.

Why I am a Mormon

I was quite contented to be a member of a different faith but when the missionaries came into our home and started teaching the lessons, there was such a wonderful spirit that came and went with them. They asked me to pray to know whether the Book of Mormon was true but I was more concerned about Joseph Smith. So that's what I prayed about. I got an undeniable confirmation from the Holy Spirit that Joseph Smith is a prophet. After baptism, I have had a lot of trials but also have been deluged with the spirit, blessings, miracles and peace in difficult times.

How I live my faith

I attend the church meetings and have a calling as a consultant in the Family History Center. The church is very generous with helping others with their genealogy. Now that we're retired, my husband and I work in the San Antonio, Texas Temple one day a week. It's a long drive and we almost always have something to gripe about but after we get there, it's a blessing to be able to do the work for those who can't. I have given talks when asked as well as taught lessons. I have taught youth, women, and Sunday School over the past 32 years. I ALWAYS learn more than I teach.
