Hi I'm Barbara

I was raised in Lakeside and grew up to marry a return missionary and we have 10 children and 30 g-children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Barbara. My parents were members before I was born. My mother died when I was 3 weeks old. I have an older brother (deceased) and an older sister. We lived with our dad's mother until I was 2 years at which time our dad married and now I have 6 younger half brothers. I started tap dancing when I was 3 years old. I danced at receptions, dance festivals, road shows. I danced until I was 18 at which time I met my future husband and the dancing went bye bye, but I filled my time with 5 daughters and 5 sons who kept me on my toes. We have 30 grandchildren and 2 more on the way. Wow I love to be a mom but being a grandmother is way awesome. We have 3 grandsons on a mission. 8 of our 10 children went on missions. love to crochet, camping, loosing myself in a good book, I love to do Sudoku and puzzles. I love to do genealogy. I have been a temple worker for 6 years but have had to stop because of health problems. I stay active in my church and am grateful for the Gospel of Jesus Christ which gives me hope that one day I will meet the Mother I never had in this life. I love being a Mormon. We have pretty high standards but it helps us stay close to the Lord.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church but as a child I loved to have gospel discussions with my dad. I learned early about genealogy. We had a teacher in Sunday school that taught me to love genealogy. We always attended our meetings and as I grew I realized what I wanted in life. It wanted to marry a good man in our temple and be a mom. I stay in the church because I know that it is the true church. I know that Joseph Smith was chosen to be the instrument in God's hands here on earth to restore the true church of Jesus Christ and because of Joseph's life and even his death tells me that I am doing the right thing. I know that God lives and that Jesus Atoned for our sins if we will just go to Heavenly Father in prayer and ask for forgiveness and because Christ loves us so much that he bled from every pour of his body to make it possible for us to return to our Father in Heaven. I want whoever reads this to know that I have a testimony of the truthfulness of this Gospel. Jesus is our Savior and will redeem us. I am so grateful to be a Mormon or to be callws a Latter-day Saint.

How I live my faith

I worked in the Primary program with children from ages 1 1/2 years old to 12 years old. I worked with the young girls in our church. I worked with the women in our church. My husband and I worked in our Nursery with children ages 1 1/2 years old to 3, at which time they moved our to the regular Primary.
