Hi I'm Lesia

I'm Canadian and a mother of four. I had 4 kids in 5 1/2 years. Crazy but true! Life was crazy and busy and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Because I have a busy husband, kids that were close together and a dog I have often felt my life was like a revolving door. But now as everyone has gotten older I have been able to find the time to do some exciting things. We love to travel the world and learn of other cultures and try their food. I have gone parasailing, scuba diving, snorkeling, cave exploring, and zip lining through the jungle. I have swam with sea turtles, dolphins and sharks...and my husband is not always with me! I enjoy trying new things....I especially like reading a good book at a warm beach or watching a sunset. I do like to keep busy and even enjoy pulling weeds from my garden!

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church when I was 19. As a child we had no religion in our home. One summer day I was lying on the grass looking up at the clouds in the sky and I had a deep feeling come over me that there was a God that knew me but I didn't know him. At 12 years old our house burnt to the ground and we moved 2000 miles. I became friends with some members and learnt about Heavenly Father. We only lived there for 1 year and moved again. My friend and I kept in contact and 4 years later after I had graduated from high school I planned on moving back and joining the church. As I was driving through the mountains a deer jumped out in front of me. My car did a 360 degree turn and the U-haul that I was towing was hanging over the edge of the mountain. At that time it felt like my life passed through my eyes in slow motion. I was afraid to move so I prayed and said I would change my life and do what was right. A short time later an old man driving a pickup truck stopped and put his chains on my car and pulled me off the mountain edge. He then went on his way. Thirteen hours later I got to my friends and told her I wanted to join the church. It was a major turning point in my life which I have never regretted. It has brought me peace and happiness in this crazy world. It has helped me understand the trials that have been placed in my life and has given me strength. It has brought purpose to every day life. I have been given many opportunities to serve in the church, which I have enjoyed. Sometimes I wonder how I will measure up to the challenge but I have found that Heavenly Father knows me better than I know myself! I know God knows each of us... both our strengths and weaknesses and this world gives us an opportunity to improve. Each trial is given to us so we can learn from it. I know God lives and loves us and I am grateful for that knowledge.

How I live my faith

I try to live my religion by serving others...whether its taking a meal to someone that is busy or sick or just visiting with them. I like to work at food banks in our community. I enjoy teaching the youth and going to camp with them. I have taught early morning religion classes for several years for high school students. That was fun and challenging all at the same time. I also like to help out on Eagle Scout projects and community service projects. I love to work on family history and once I start it's very hard to stop. Six days a week when I'm sweating on the treadmill I listen to the scriptures. This helps me start my day the right way and I learn something new.
