Hi I'm Guy

I enjoy time in this schoolhouse we call life as a father, grandfather and being happily married for eternity. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of a son and two daughters and a grandfather of a grandson, three granddaughters, and one eternal granddaughter. I am happily married and sealed to my angelic eternal companion, Sue, since November 2005. I am a full life Seattleite, worked for a local aircraft company for over 35 years, love the outdoors and music. I used to hike, bike, ride horses and have volunteered with the fire department, Red Cross and a prominent therapeutic horseback riding association. I now have the privilege of being with my wonderful wife. Since she has a health challenge that requires the use of a wheel chair for her mobility, we enjoy walks, picnics, movies, our pets (Cinder in the picture) and as much time together as we can. My wife Sue is truly my saving angel in this temporal life.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was introduced to the church I knew and felt the importance of family. At the time I did not understand the spirituality. Then having been given challenges (lessons) to learn, that I did not pass well and becoming inactive, I came to realize that I was missing something in my life. Something was missing inside. I returned to what I felt was so right, back to the Church of Jesus Crist of Latter Day Saints, to feel the loving spiritual guidance of the holy Ghost. Then with a desire in my heart for a better life I began to learn, understand and gain a testimony of the truthfulness of what makes this church the Lords church. I have not wavered since and I try to let the guiding light of the Holy Spirit guide me in my everyday life. It is the true peace that I feel, the questions that are answered and the understanding of the purpose of life and of our potential, which cements my foundation as a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I attempt to stay focused on the eternal goal by trying to live the way Jesus Christ has counseled us to live. He takes direction from our Father and I try to take direction from Him through the Holy Ghost. To accomplish this, I try to follow the counsel given by those that lead in His Kingdom. His living Prophet on this earth guides us in these latter days with the help of two assistants and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. The leaders and teachers of his Wards (congregations) give lessons on a weekly basis. The lessons we receive are the same around the world. Wherever we go we are in His family, His kingdom. I stay active by attending our weekly Sacrament meeting to renew the promises we made at Baptism and by attending the Temple, the University of Spiritual understanding. I keep the faith and realize that earthly challenges are opportunities to learn and grow. With my wife, my saving angel by my side, we both support each other and grow together. What a beautiful and wonderful schoolhouse we live in, to prepare for eternal life together.

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

The current prophet and President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Thomas S. Monson. Our prophet is assisted by two counselors Henry B. Eyring and Dieter F. Uctdorf whom make up the first presidency. The Quorum of the Twelve Apostles assists the first Presidency. All members of the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles are apostles and prophets. Show more Show less
