Hi I'm Mike

I grew up in Idaho. I love the outdoors and the mountains and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I’m a grandfather of 4 amazing grandchildren and a father of 3 incredible children. I was very fortunate to marry my best friend. I have lived most of my life in the beautiful states of Idaho and Colorado. However, I was very fortunate to live 2 years of my life in Northern Italy. I am an alumni of Idaho State University and I am a Finance Controller.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Mormon faith. My parents were the finest Christian examples to my brother and 3 sisters, my neighbors, and to our entire community. I knew that they knew that God lives and that he loves his children; including me. As I was growing up, I took great strength in their examples of Christian love and service and their knowledge that the Church is the true church of Jesus Christ. I witnessed, first hand, how their faith and service to our family, and others around us, blessed our family. Eventually, to know for myself what my parents knew, I read the Book of Mormon. And then I prayed to know if it was truly the word of God. I have received my answer many times and it is my testimony that Jesus is the Christ and that this is the only true and living church on the face of the earth. It is also my testimony that Christ stands at the head of this church. That he directs this church through a living prophet on the earth today. And I know that anyone who will do the same will also know these same truths.

How I live my faith

I strive to follow the example of our Savior Jesus Christ that I read about in the scriptures. It seems like most of the time that I fall very short of his example. However, I keep trying every day to do better and to be more like the Savior. I also try to follow the example of my parents by serving my family, my neighbors and the wonderful community we live in. My wife and I read the scriptures every day and we pray often. And I have found that doing these simple things brings comfort, peace and true happiness into my life. I have also discovered that doing these things helps me face the difficulties and challenges I face every day. Despite my many weaknesses, I know that I have a loving Father in Heaven who will never abandon me and help me to the best that He knows I can be.
