Hi I'm Charlie

My life changed at 19 when I was baptized and later served a mission in Nagoya, Japan. I love life, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of six children and have been married to my dear wife Kim for 29 years. We were married for time and all eternity in the Los Angeles, California Temple and are sealed to our children as an eternal family. As a lifelong educator, I have been a Special Education Teacher, a Coach, a High School Principal, and for the past 15 years, a Superintendent of Schools. I love helping our to youth thrive in the learning environment. I love to travel to new and exciting places with my wife and children. I'm an avid golfer, love sports, and enjoy fishing in the beautiful setting of Idaho.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because: I love Jesus Christ and his glorious gospel. Living His gospel brings me inner peace and tremendous joy that cannot be found in any other way. His is the only way to true happiness. My wife and children bring such wonderful blessings into my life and I love them so very much. What a joy it is to know that through the covenants made in the Holy Temple of God, we can be a family for eternity. The opportunity to have a living prophet on this earth at this time to learn from his teachings brings great comfort as a husband and father trying to navigate through the challenges and evils of this world. Reading the Book of Mormon every day brings such a wonderful spirit of joy into my life, and gives me guidance and direction in making right choices throughout the day.

How I live my faith

It may sound strange, but I absolutely love spending four, five, six or more hours each Sunday attendiing church meetings, providing service, visiting families, giving priesthood blessings, and basicly just interacting with wonderful people all striving live better lives and to learn more of Jesus Christ and His gospel. Weekly Temple attendance brings tremendous joy as I perform sacred work for those that have left this earth without the opportunity or the knowledge to have done it for themselves. What an opportunity it is to do this work for them in our Temples, which will provide a means for them to live again, with their families, in the presence of Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father for eternity.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

There was a time in my life when I questioned if there was a God, but that changed when I read the Book of Mormon. It was then that I knew my life had meaning and I was truly a child of my Heavenly Father. It became completely clear that God knew me perfectly, better than my earthly parents, and my purpose on this earth as a child of God was to: gain a physical body, grow through my experiences and trials by having faith in my Savior Jesus Christ, serve others in need, and prepare myself to return again to my Heavenly Father. As each of my six children were born, there could be no doubt that there was a Supreme Creator. These beautiful, complex creations could not just come about by accident or through some sort of evolution process. In looking at the beauty of our earth and all the planets and stars in our galaxy, this also testifies that there is a God and He does have a perfect plan in place for us and our families. An eternal plan of salvation that is glorious and true. Show more Show less
