Hi I'm Pablo Avila

I grew up in Argentina, Buenos Aires. I love playing guitar and soccer. I love Jesus Christ, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I love playing soccer, watching movies and playing guitar. I am from Buenos Aires, Argentina. I was born in the church from goodly parents that taught me how to pray and trust in God. I'm grateful for their example in living the Gospel of Christ. Now I know how I can be happy and raise my own family based on the same principles. I'm serving a mission in Washington Spokane and I love it, I have never been more happy before. I love searching the scriptures and find answers to my deepest questions in them.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church but I had to get my own testimony of it. I know this is the truth. That's why I keep attending and keeping the commandments. I don't know what would I do without the Gospel in my life. It helps me to grow in every aspect of my life. Knowing that I'm a child of God helped me to understand that everything is possible if we push ourselves and trust in Him. I'm grateful for the atoning sacrifice of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He's my King, my Redeemer and friend, I love Him with all my heart and want to follow His example. That's what gives meaning to my life.

How I live my faith

Right now I live my faith by reading the scriptures and doing what God says through them, specially preaching the gospel to others. Prayer is an essential part of my life. I have a great testimony that God does answer prayers- in His way and time- but He does. Through this blessing I could know by myself about the truthfulness of His Gospel- I felt the influence of the Holy Ghost, those sweet, calm and warm feelings in my chest telling me that He is there, that He is listening and watching over me. That way we can know that we are not alone at all, that there's always hope and forgiveness, that you can be truly happy.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Pablo Avila
Without the Atonement (meaning the suffering, death and resurrection of the Savior), everything would be lost. Because of the fall of Adam, man became subject to physical death (separation of body and spirit), and spiritual death (being separate from the prescence of God by sin). With this two deaths, we could not return to Heavenly Father's and receive eternal life. Jesus Christ came to the world to overcome those two deaths by His suffering and Resurrection. As he suffered for our sins, he paid the price of justice for us. And as He resurrected, we all are going to resurrect too; wether it be a resurrection to eternal life or a resurrection to eternal suffering depends on our obedience to His gospel. When we follow His gospel, we accept that Atonement, that payment, and then we receive life eternal. When we choose not to follow it, we choose not to accept Christ nor His Atonement. Then we remain as there had been no Atonement, we remain dirty and unworthy to receive Heaven. That means that we chose to follow satan. "Choose ye this day whom ye will serve..." Show more Show less
