Hi I'm Ryan

I was born and raised in the southwest U.S. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married. My wife and I have 4 young sons. We both work in the medical field; she works in the nursing profession and I currently work in radiology. I just started a physician assistant program specializing in radiology. I currently work full time and am trying to balance work, school, family, and my church calling! It is difficult but will be worth it in the end! I have recently been called to be the 1st counselor in my ward's Elder's Quorum presidency. I love this calling. I firmly believe in the home teaching program and find that I have a wonderful opportunity to try and increase the participation among our Elder's.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the covenant; that is, I was born to parents that were sealed in the temple. I will admit that for the early years of my life I sort of coasted off of my parents testimony. It wasn't until my early teen years that I gained a testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ of my own. I remember being on a youth trip and we had a fireside followed by a personal testimony meeting. It was during this testimony meeting that I really felt the "baptism of fire" from the Holy Ghost! I had some rough years from that point up to my mid 20's as far as my dedication to the church. I thought that I could do everything on my own and that I pretty much knew everything and didn't need the church. I never, however, completely lost my testimony. I thankfully never let my spiritual "pilot light" burn out! Why am I a Mormon? Because I know without a shadow of a doubt that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Christ's church. It is exactly after the order of the ancient church that He established while on this earth. I have done as John in the Old Testament cites of Jesus who admonished us to ask of God if we lack wisdom. I have prayed unto God the eternal Father and have asked Him if this is Christ's true church. I received confirmation in the same manner as how the Holy Ghost manifested to me as a young teenager by the "baptism of fire". I cannot deny these gifts that I have personally received through the gift of the Holy Ghost; therefore, I live up to the standards that have been set forth by the creator of this world in which we live, even Jesus Christ, the only Begotten Son of God. This testimony I leave with you in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

In my home, my wife and I strive daily to direct our family activities that would be pleasing unto our Heavenly Father. We have been commanded to raise our children in faith. We have also made the choice to be disciples of Jesus Christ, and as such, we try our best to pattern our lives after He who showed us the perfect example of how to treat one another. My wife is involved in a leadership position with our young women organization. I have a leadership position within our church as well. Part of my responsibility is to organize the home teaching efforts within our ward (designation of members within a geographic area). Home teaching is where a companionship of 2 priesthood holders are assigned to 3 or 4 families to visit and share a spiritual message with once a month. The primary purpose of this is to provide all families with a resource. Someone to go to for advice, help moving, or if there are difficulties, the home teachers can alert the Bishop of any special needs a family may have. At home, my family prays together daily for strength to overcome weakness, assistance in daily tasks, and for guideance and direction. We also meet together once a week for family home evening where we designate time together as a family to learn and grow through prayer, fun activities, and spiritual lessons that help strengthen our family unit. We are not perfect by any means! This is why we constantly seek guideance and help from the Father in the name of Jesus Christ. Satan and his disciples are always watching
