Hi I'm Paula

I was born and raised in New Zealand, then moved to Tonga. I play sports and make music in my spare time, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Glen Innes, Auckland, New Zealand. I moved with my family to Tonga when I was 13 years old. I like playing different sports like, Rugby, Volley Ball, Basketball, Tennis, Ping-Pong etc. I also like to record music when I have the chance, and have some pretty sweet recording equipment in my little "Hut". I enjoy spending time with family and friends and just hanging out and having a good time. I'm Polynesian so music and food is always part of my "daily" activities. I like meeting new people and exploring new things. I am currently serving a full-time mission in the Washington Spokane Mission and I absolutely LOVE it! I have recently discovered that I enjoy reading the scriptures and all other forms of church literature. To me, the most important thing in life is Family. I believe that has been a big part of why I am what I am today. Without my family I wouldn't be doing the things I'm doing, and for that I am truly grateful.

Why I am a Mormon

The reason why I'm Mormon is because my parents raised me in the church. Although I attended regularly at a young age, I was exposed to gangs and drugs mostly because of the neighborhood I grew up in. But growing up in the church was a great blessing and experience. In my life I've seen some pretty crazy things, and to be able to keep your head on straight after those experiences is quite the accomplishment. I've seen how the Gospel of Jesus Christ can bless people and their families, but I also know what it's like not to have the Gospel in ones life. I have seen friends and family that have fallen into Satan's trap of pride and disobedience, not only to the commandments of God but also to the laws of the land. I think that it's through these experiences that I've had personally, that have helped me be where I am today. My conversion to the Gospel of Jesus Christ has helped me be the example to my friends and family that have strayed from the straight and narrow.

How I live my faith

I believe that the way we live our faith is how we act and behave when no one is looking. Similar to our character. The things we do when no one is looking defines us and who we are. So in a sense, the way I live my faith is how converted or how strong of a belief I have in my faith. So for me, being the example to my friends and family is how I live my faith. I can spend all day preaching and teaching about the Gospel but it's the way that I live my life that sets the example for others.

Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

I think that it's important because one who seeks to find truth, will study the scriptures and know that there is one God, one faith and one baptism. So when we are baptised we need to truly seek out that "Authority" or Priesthood that Christ gave to his Apostles. It is important to find that "Authority" because without it, baptism is not valid. Having that priesthood authority means that you have permission from God to perform ordinances such as baptism. Show more Show less
