Hi I'm Bri

I am a HUGE Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan, future zombie apocolypse survivor, wife and mother of one, AND I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am a certified phlebotomist and a licensed cosmetologist! I served a mission in Louisville, KY where I met my husband who was also serving a mission! We have one little girl and she is everything we ever wanted and more!! Being a mom is such a rewarding experience even on the rough days! For fun I like to go to the movies or watch them with my family at home! I also enjoy exercising and have started running! I also really enjoy weight lifting!! In my spare time, I enjoy decorating cakes!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member all my life though I did not fully understand the gospel until I was 19/20 years old. It was then that I realized what I wanted for my future life and family. When I was in high school I started distancing myself from the teachings of the gospel for no other reason then rebellion. Deep down inside I knew the teachings were true but I wanted to "have fun". I ended up being miserable and with a very bleek future. I was in an emotionally abusive relationship that just kept getting worse. We were engaged but I just knew it wasn't what I really wanted! I was babysitting my 2yr old nephew when it came time for me to put him to bed. He knelt down beside his bed and asked me to help him say his prayers. I realized this is what I wanted for my future. A family that prays together!! It was so sweet to hear him talk to his Heavenly Father and know that He was listening! I wanted my children to know the same!! From that moment, I became a more active member. I started saying my own prayers and watched as they were answered! I came to know that Heavenly Father loves ME! He knows ME! I gained a greater understanding of the atonement of my Savior Jesus Christ and His love for me and all God's children. I moved way from the abusive relationship and got involved in my local singles ward! I had SO much fun!! I didn't have to break any rules to enjoy myself and have friends! To this day, some of those single ward friends are my forever friends!! I ended up gaining a testimony for myself through study and prayer and eventually sharing that with others by serving a mission! It was such a rewarding experience to share my testimony and love for the gospel of Jesus Christ with others!!! I now have an eternal family that prays together every day!! I know this church is true! It is the same church that Christ set up when He was on earth with apostles and prophets! Personal revelation has been restored and God still talks to His children!!

How I live my faith

It was so easy to live the gospel once I understood it more! As a missionary I had the opportunity to live the gospel more publicly. Since then I make it a point to search out service opportunities. Feed the hungry, help the needy and teach my own daughter about God and His Son Jesus Christ. I currently teach in the women's organization of the church, Relief Society! What a privilege it is to interact with such sweet righteous sisters. We are not perfect but we are striving every day to do what is right. I also spend time in the nursery taking care of the little ones while their parents are being taught! This too is very rewarding. It is a wonderful blessing to help the youngest of God's children come to know Him better!
