Hi I'm Alex

I'm a Mormon! I know that the things that the church teaches are true. I urge everyone to really learn and ponder its teachings.

About Me

I come from a great family. I am the oldest of seven children, four boys and three girls. We do foster care as a family and the youngest of the seven kids is Skylar, a sweet little boy we recently adopted. I love my family so much. I am 21 years old and I am currently going to school at BYU Idaho to become a Nurse. I returned from a full time mission in February 2013. Serving a mission has really changed my life and I love being apart of seeing the Gospel of Jesus Christ change the lives of those I teach and serve. I am a super sports fan. I ejnoy watching and playing every sport under the sun. My favorites are Basketball and Baseball. I played Baseball, Basketball, Football, and ran Cross Country in High School. The sciences have always interested me especially Human Anatomy. I am a member of Future Business Leaders of America and have competed in both state and national high school competitions. I am an eagle scout. I love hanging out with friends, going swimming, and playing video games. I love extreme thrills like roller coasters, repeling, cliff jumping, and anything that gets the blood pumping. The most important thing to me is my Family; my immediate, extended, and heavenly family. I love my Savior Jesus Christ because through him I know I can be with my family forever. Being a member of Christ's church makes me who I am.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because it means everything to me. I have come to know for myself that this is indeed Christ's church. I am a Mormon because it gives me the knowledge that families can be together forever. I am a Mormon because I know that Jesus Christ lived and died for me and for every single person who has, is, or will walk this earth. I know that he loves me. I know I can turn to him in my times of need and I know that he is happy when I am happy. My Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ love me and I know they are always there. I know that I can talk with my Heavenly Father through prayer. I know that he answers our prayers and this is how I have come to the conclusions I have about what I believe. I have studied, pondered, and tested the principles that the church teaches. I have then went to my Heavenly Father in prayer to recieve an answer of the truthfullness of those principles. I am a Mormon because I know that through Joseph Smith Heavenly Father restored the church of Jesus Christ. Joseph Smith is indeed a prophet. I know that with all my heart. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. It stands as a witness of the truthfullness of this church. I have read it and prayed about it and have recieved an answer by the power of the Holy Ghost that the book is true. I have felt the spirit as I have read it and I can testifiy that as we study The Book of Mormon we do indeed draw nearer to our Savior and our Heavenly Father. I am a Mormon because it gives me purpose in life. I know where I came from, why I am here, and where I am going. As I live the Gospel of Jesus Christ my testimony only increases. This Gospel means everything to me, my family means everything to me, my Savior means everything to me, and that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am currently living my faith by serving a full time mission. I have been called by a Prophet of God to serve for two years away from my home. I spend 24 hours a day, 7 days a week sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with everyone I can. I love it. It has made me into a better person and I know I will be more prepared to be a good husband, father, and friend. I live my faith by being an example of Jesus Christ at all times. I focus my thoughts and actions toward my Father in Heaven and my Savior. Without them I would be nothing. I live my faith my serving those around me. Service in every form brings great joy that cannot be found anywhere else. I have served as a leader of young men groups in the church and have served in other positions in the church. Our church is a service church. Everyone serves everyone and it is amazing. I live my faith by not just going to church on Sunday but by living the Gospel of Jesus Christ everyday of the week.

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

Alex
God is our Father. One of my favorite scriptures, Romans 8: 16-17, teaches us this divine principle. This is such an amazing truth to understand because since we are God's children we can become like him. He loves us perfectly and wants us to return home. He is perfect, omnipotent, all knowing, all powerful, and is the creator of all. He has a perfected and glorified body of flesh and bone. Jesus Christ is Only Begotten in the flesh. True and eternal happiness is found only in and through Christ by which we can return to dwell with God and our families forever. Show more Show less

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Alex
I have the opportunity right now to do just that as a full time missionary. The reason we proselyte is because we love our Savior and we want to share his message. The things we have learned and what the church and its teachings mean to us are so special. We just want to share those with our brothers and sisters. We are all children of God and he loves us all so much. That is why we proselyte, because we love his children too. We are not trying to force our religion on anyone. In fact, we just want to give everyone the opporunity to hear our special message and give them the tools to find out for themselves if the message is true. I testify that it is true. As missionaries we have been called by a Prophet of God to be representatives of our Savior Jesus Christ. We do our best to look and act like his servants. We have hearkened to the Savior's call to proclaim the gospel to all the world. We look to serve all those around us in any and every way that we can. The Gospel of Jesus Christ and the happiness it brings has meant everything to me. The knowledge that I have recieved from the Gospel of being able to be with my Family forever even after I die has given me the drive and desire to share that knowledge with others. We proselyte because we love. I love my Savior, my Father in Heaven, my Family, and all of my brothers and sister around me; and that is why we proselyte. Show more Show less
