Hi I'm Marie

I love bugs and anything out doors. I enjoy reading almost everything. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have just started college. I was home schooled. I am dyslexic and I could not read until I was 9 and a 1/2. But despite that I love reading. Other things I like to do are: backpacking, swimming, listening to music, and drawing. Collecting insets and spiders is one of my hobbies as well.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are members but that is not why I am. I was baptized at 8. My mother wanted this to mean something to me, so she helped me read the Book of Mormon before I was at the age of 8. When we finished I knelt down and prayed to know if it was true. Even a 7 and a 1/2 year old can feel the spirit. We all feel the spirit differently. I usually get over whelmed with a good emotion. This time it was joy. I was so happy that I started to laugh. I felt so much love from above that's all my little-7-and-a-1/2-year-old-self could do.

How I live my faith

I am in college and sometimes I find it hard to do things for others when my life is so busy. A little while ago I came up with a motto to live by "Just keep [smiling], just keep [smiling]" (taken from 'Finding Nemo'). It has always made things from bad to good and just good to awesome. Example, When I am feeling like going home from an activity because I am unhappy about something I just think about my motto and force a smile. The smile always seams to reach my heart and let me enjoy whatever I'm doing. Plus it appears to be contagiousness and spread to the ones around me. That is how I live my faith by reflecting it in my smile.
