Hi I'm Carrie

I'm a wife. I'm a mother of two amazing boys. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for almost 11 years. We have two boys who are active, healthy and fun! I am a working mom which can be a challenge at times. Thankfully my company allows me to work at home so I feel like I can see my children more. I am trying to start a floral design business in case I stop working so I can supplement our income. The boys have school and my youngest goes to day care (wonderful friends and relatives help with this) a few days a week. I love spending time with them! We enjoy doing fun things together as a family. We ride bikes, play games, go fun places once in a while. We love to travel and "go away" together. It is uninterrupted family time and my boys LOVE it! Even if we just head up to the mountains for a night and a day! It is pure quality time that you can't create anywhere else. I love to sing! I sang in choirs in High School and took Voice Lessons. I would love to teach voice. Looking back on my education I wish I would have chosen Music as a major. Not sure what I was thinking. Maybe someday I can go back to school and do what I love. I sang with the Colorado Mormon Chorale for a few seasons. What a treat! It's too hard to make the commitment with little ones at home now. Thankfully I can sing at church and that is a joy for me! I love sharing my love of music with my family. We sing in the car, the kitchen, everywhere! I am grateful that I can share my love of music with my boys!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up Mormon. We went to church every week and it was something I always enjoyed. I got baptized when I was eight. As a Youth I went to all my activities, went to early morning seminary to study the scriptures. My parents prayed with us daily and taught us from the scriptures. I tried to make good choices growing up. I think like many I did struggle with knowing if the gospel was true. For a time as a young adult I didn't go to church every week and had to really truly search the scriptures and pray to know the truth. I came to know through prayer that I believe this gospel to be true. I know that the scriptures are true and I know that my Father in Heavean hears and answers my prayers! He is there for us in our times of need and I am grateful to have that knowledge. I love that this church helps us to build strong loving relationships with our families. That is so important to me! I also enjoy much happiness and hope to be able to share this same joy with others.

How I live my faith

I spent the last 2 and a half years working with the youth in our ward. They are amazing! It's incredible how much temptation is in the world for them to overcome and I admire their strength! Recently my duties have changed and I am now in charge of the entire group of children 18 mos to 11 Years old in our ward. We have about 45 kids divided into classes where they have teachers to help them to learn the basic principles of the gospel. They learn about Jesus Christ, prayer, the scriptures. I help coordinate the program and also get the opportunity to teach all the children. Once a year the children present a program during church to share with their parents and other adults what they have learned throughout the year. It's a wonderful event for all in attendance. I love working with the children and being around them each week! I also visit a couple of women in our ward every month. We make sure that things are going well for them and find help for them when they need it. I enjoy being around the women in our ward just as much as the children!
