Hi I'm Christine

I am a divorced retail manager. I believe in course corrections. I believe that change starts with me. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am retail manager for a big box store. I love being around people and being busy on my feet all day. When I come home, I enjoy taking my dog hiking and escaping the bustle of the world for a little while. I love all life has to offer- a mountain to climb up or rappell down, a new place to travel to, a silly game of miniature golf or even just a new type of food- life is meant to be lived and enjoyed! My friends and family are a great support for me from game nights, dinners out, going dancing and chatting on the phone; life wouldn't be the same without them.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe God has a plan for each of us; and we are always exactly where we need to be. I was raised Methodist but like many youth I rebelled in my late teens and early twenties. I spent many years without the presence of God in my life, I thought the ways of the world would bring the happiness I desired. When my marriage began to fall apart, I sought comfort and found the peace of the Gospel. I came to see that God's laws don't bind us, they offer freedom and peace. I am thankful everyday for my Church family and that God never gives up on us. I may not know what is around the next corner, but I know that Jesus is with me to help guide and teach me.

How I live my faith

Being a convert gives me the unique opportunity to share why I no longer do some things that I used to do. Like how I no longer drink coffee - I love sharing how I believe that God still speaks to us in modern times and how we show our love for Him by obeying his laws.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

We believe that our bodies are a Gift from God. God still speaks to us today, through modern revelation. Almost two hundred years ago we were given the Word of Wisdom that emphasizes treating our bodies as the gifts they are. It gives guidelines for maintaining physical health. Among those guidelines, is abstaining from the use of coffee, tea, alcohol and tobacco. It also encourages us to eat meat sparingly and to have a diet of healthy grains and vegetables. Today nutritionists and scientists are promoting some of the same ideas that God revealed to us in 1833. As a convert, I asked this same question and through prayer and study came to know the truth of the answer. I love being able to share this with anyone who wonders why I no longer drink coffee!!
