Hi I'm Sara

I'm a daughter. I'm a sister. I'm a student. I'm a shopaholic. I'm a friend. I'm a missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Colorado. I am the youngest of four. I like to learn and I work hard as a student, but I still have fun with friends and roommates. I am attending college, but recently decided to temporarily leave my life to serve a mission. I am a missionary. I love this Gospel and try to help others find it. I love to serve others because it draws me closer to Christ. I always try to smile.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I want to be, not because my parents made me, and not for any other reason. I don't have to follow His commandments, I choose to. I'm a Mormon because I know it is the right way to live. I've seen people with out the gospel, I've seen people leave the gospel, I've had times where I wasn't living the gospel as well as I could, and I know that it brings true happiness to our lives. I'm a Mormon because I know this is His church, and I love His church. I'm a Mormon because I love serving the people around me. I'm a Mormon because I do not want to live any other way. I'm a Mormon because the Spirit testified to me that this is how I should be living. I'm a Mormon because I know this church is true, I choose to follow it, I love it, and I will not stray from it.

How I live my faith

I try to live my life how my Father in Heaven would want me to. I try to be a friend to those who need one, and serve others. I love children because they aren't afraid of being who they are, a child of God, and I try to live my life like I am one too. I know that this Church is true, I know Christ is real, I know our Father in Heaven loves us, I know what Heavenly Father wants me to do. He wants me to be a missionary. I will serve a mission for a year and half, change my lifestyle, to teach others these things I know. I try to put my trust in the Lord and give him all of me, my strength, might, mind, and soul. I live my faith by representing and being a disciple of Jesus Christ. I live my faith by living as He would want me to. I live my faith by being happy and helping others find that happiness too.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

We are all daughters and sons of our Father in Heaven. He loves us all equally and immensely. Men and women, fathers and mothers, play different roles in family and in life, but they are equally important to the welfare of others. We believe this. People, even Mormon members, are not perfect and some might not always show this equality, but that does not mean it is good, correct, or what we believe. I know we are equal. I love the men in my life and respect their callings as much as they love and respect me and mine. I have never felt unequal or less than a man in this church because I understand our roles and God's will. Mormon women, just like most other people, are all different. I have met Mormon women that are great nurturing mothers and Mormon women that are driven in their professions, often women that are both. We just strive to fulfill our roles and purposes that Heavenly Father would have us fill in life, and do it with a smile and support. Show more Show less

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

The temple is not secret, but rather sacred. This is why only worthy and ready people can go to the temple. We learn of eternal truths in the temple and it is important that one is ready to for that higher standard of living. In the temple we receive and preform sacred ordinances like baptism for the dead (for those who did not have the chance to on earth), so they can also choose to have these blessings and live with Heavenly Father again. We also preform a sacred ordinance that seals or binds husband and wife and their families together forever. We believe that we can spend forever as a family and the temple is where those sacred ordinances of eternal importance happen. We want everyone to receive the blessings of the temple, we don't want to exclude people, and that is why we invite all to listen to the words of this church or to visit the temples grounds or visitors center. I know the temple is the house of God where we can greatly feel His love and peace, and I hope everyone can experience that. Show more Show less
