Hi I'm Pam

I grew up in New Mexico and California, USA. I am a retired LPN, mother of 4 and grandma of 4. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for 31 years to my wonderful husband. Besides our Savior Jesus Christ and His gospel, my family has been my greatest joy in life. I had the great blessing of being able to be a stay-at-home mom when our children were growing up. I cherish all those moments of picking them up from school and spending time with them as they came and went. We lost our youngest daughter in an accident at the age of 4. Losing her made me cherish all the more, the precious time that I had with our children. I love being a grandma, going on dates with my hubby, going to movies, baking, reading, going to the temple, seeing new places, being at home and being with friends.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a Mormon has brought so much happiness to me and my family. My mother joined the church when she was a teenager and she and my dad (who was already a member) raised me in the church. I am grateful my mother had the faith and courage to honestly seek for truth in her life and to follow it, even when it was not easy. I also feel strength from the faith of my father and his pioneer ancestors. That they would endure so much hardship/loss for the sake of the Gospel is so telling of how much it meant to them. I have learned for myself, through receiving answers to my prayers, that this church is true. I am so thankful that the Holy Ghost will whisper truth to us when we really want to know and when we listen for it. I love that the church teaches me to follow Jesus Christ and to try to be like Him because I know it is only through Him that we can we find true and lasting happiness. I am thankful every day for His saving atonement that makes it possible to be forgiven of my sins and to live with Heavenly Father again in the next life. I am deeply grateful that the Lord continues to speak to His children through His prophets...as He always has. I am grateful that He is the same yesterday, today and forever. He is always there and we can always count on Him. I am so thankful for the Book of Mormon. There is great power in that book. It brings the Spirit into my life, like few other things can, and has given me so many answers to life's challenges. Reading it personally and with my family has brought greater happiness and peace into our home. I love the blessing of the Lord's temples and knowing that in His temples we can be sealed together for eternity as a family. I want to be with my family eternally. These are all things that make life sweet and what I want to live for!

How I live my faith

In our home we have always tried to keep the Spirit through daily family and personal prayer and scripture study. We also have Family Home Evening once a week where we spend time together strengthening ourselves spiritually and as a family. I try to follow Christ's example of going about doing good. I am very imperfect at it, but I do pray to know what He would want me to do and I try to follow those promptings. My husband and I teach strengthening marriage classes and we also teach classes to help others prepare to go to the temple. We visit a few families in our ward each month to try to uplift them spiritually and to see how they are doing and if they need help with anything. I also love to attend the temple as often as I can.
