Hi I'm Amy

I joined the church when I was 16. I'm a wife, mother, and teacher and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, a mother of four, and an elementary school teacher.I have a Masters in Elementary Education with an Early Childhood Endorsement. I love to be crafty. I scrapbook and make cards. My family and I love board games. I am a HUGE movie buff, old and new. I enjoy reading in the summer when school is out. I love family vacations.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a broken home spending most of my time with my mom and visiting my dad in the summers. My mom explored many churches but ultimately decided she did not like organized religion at all. My dad attended an Episcopalian church for years then changed to a Methodist church. My siblings and I attended the Methodist church as well but mostly for the socialization with other teens. I found the Mormon church when I was in the ninth grade. Some of my band friends introduced me to mutual. I attended mutual for several weeks then started attending church. I knew the church was true immediately. My parents would not let me join the church right away so I actively went to church, to mutual, and even to girl's camp for two years to show them I was serious. I was ecstatically baptized on my sweet 16th birthday!

How I live my faith

I am a visiting teacher and the Primary President. A visiting teacher visits and teaches a gospel message to women in the ward. Being the Primary President means that I am over the organization that teaches the youth ages 18 months to 11 years. These are both very rewarding callings in the church that I willing serve in because the Lord has asked me to do this through the council of my bishopric. I serve with amazing people. I have been actively involved in the scouting program for years through my boys' achievements and service. I love the community that exists within my ward. My family and I have life-long friends that we know we can count on for anything. Our children have had wonderful teachers throughout the years and they continue to learn and grow in the gospel every day. This church is amazing!
