Hi I'm LaSchelle

I grew up in Seattle, Washington. I love the outdoors. I love to learn. I'm a wife and mother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to a wonderful man. I have two boys, a girl, and one more on the way. I have found so much happiness as I serve my family. We are currently working toward finishing my husband's doctorate degree. Then, I plan to go back to school, to continue my own education. I love to teach my children, and I love music.

Why I am a Mormon

There was a time in my life when I started to notice God's hand in my life more than I had before. I began to realize that He is real and I desired to know Him better and draw nearer to Him. I felt a strong influence of the Holy Ghost teaching me truths that touched my heart and helped me feel God's love for me. I began to pray more regularly early in the morning and studying the scriptures more and more. I began to love reading and praying so much and I learned that the Lord could teach me and help me so much more than I could do through my own efforts alone. I have gained a great desire to know things that God knows. I began a serious study of the Book of Mormon and have come to know of it's truth. I know it is the word of God. It provides so much strength to me and I have found power to resist temptations and to make good decisions. As I have read and studied it's pages, I have come to know who I am; a daughter of God. I believe that through personal revelation, we can be guided in our learning, and with the decisions we make in our lives. I have learned that He has a plan for each of his children, including myself. Now, as I make decisions, I have considered His ways, in addition to my own. Through this process, I have come to know myself and who He wants me to be. I have also been blessed with great love for other people and recognize that they too, are children of God.

How I live my faith

Currently, I organize efforts to take care of nursery age children ages 18 months to 3 years old who attend our church. I also teach 3-12 year old children in our Sunday school classes that we call "Primary". It is so fun to see eager children learn about Jesus Christ and help them learn that they have individual worth. I also love to teach my own children the principles that Christ taught which are recorded in the scriptures. We have a family night together once a week when we discuss the scriptures and help them learn songs that teach them that they are children of God. We also strive to have family prayer and scripture study together each day before they go to school. It really helps me have a better day when we do!
