Hi I'm Scott

I live in Phoenix, AZ and I work for a defense contractor as a manager. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been working for a defense contractor in Phoenix, AZ for the past 21 years. I enjoy playing golf and spending time with my wife and two daughters that are 13 and 16 years olds. I also enjoy camping and fishing whenever I can find to time to get away with family or friends.

Why I am a Mormon

My wife introduced me to the church over 6 year ago when we were dating. She lived in Las Vegas and we were traveling to St. George, Utah for her photo shoot when she asked if I wouldn't mind having the missionaries visit me while we were touring through the Brigham Young house. She filled out one of the missionary cards for me and several weeks later the missionaries started teaching me the lessons. I really enjoyed their visits and really felt the Spirit when they taught the lesson on eternal families. After the missionaries completed the series of lessons they asked if I would like to be baptized and would like to set a date. I gave them an affirmative answer and set a date to the nearest available time. Since my baptism I have grown to have a deeper knowledge of the gospel and have had many wonderful moments in my experience with the church. The teachings have allowed me to experience a greater freedom and joy in my life. I know that the teachings of the church are the true teachings of Jesus Christ and that Joseph Smith was the first prophet to usher in the restoration of Christ's church and His priesthood. I know we have a prophet today, Thomas S. Monson, and by listening to his messages further testifies of his calling in the church.

How I live my faith

I currently serve in the bishopric within my ward. There are three members in the bishopric and we guide and direct the spiritual growth of the members within the ward In this calling. I conduct and organize the sacrament meeting on Sunday along with the other bishopric members and extend callings to serve to members of the ward after prayerful consideration. I assist with the bishop in working with members of the ward with welfare issues and visiting other members that could use comforting words and providing them with assistance during challenging times. I also teach the gospel when requested during Sunday classes and provide council to the other leaders within the ward.
