Hi I'm Dan

I’m an attorney and a teacher. I’m a husband and a father. I've never had a doughnut that I didn’t like. I’m a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Dan. I enjoy playing and watching sports, trying new restaurants, and relaxing with my family. In college, I was lucky enough to meet the women of my dreams. Unfortunately, she dumped me. Just kidding! We got married and live happily ever after. My wife is an amazing person and my best friend. She is also much prettier than me. We are very fortunate to have a son who loves life and teaches us something new every day. He has a rare genetic disorder (around 100 children in the world have it). He is a very happy child and has taught me more than I could ever teach him. He continually amazes me with his sweet attitude and joy for the simple things in life. Professionally, I am an attorney. After practicing law for a couple years, I decided to teach classes part-time. I find both professions very rewarding. I love learning and applying the law. I also love teaching it to future professionals.

Why I am a Mormon

I’m a Mormon because of a six foot, nine inch vampire named Nosferatu. When I was about six years old, my family would gather in the attic of our home and watch black and white movies. I don’t remember anything about the movies we watched, except for the tales of Nosferatu. This particular villain terrified me, but I tried to act tough for my older siblings. One night, after another Nosferatu nightmare, I remember deciding to pray for comfort. That night, I felt a peace that instantly bore simple testimony to me that God is real and that he hears and answers our prayers. Over time, through this simple act of prayer, I have developed a greater understanding of my Heavenly Father and his desire for me to find happiness in this life. Prayer and feeling peace and comfort from my Heavenly Father helped me gain a testimony of the importance of Jesus Christ and the restoration of his church on the earth. This is why I’m a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to live a life in accordance with the teaching of Jesus Christ. I regularly fall short of the perfect example that he set. Nevertheless, I try to find ways to help and serve family, friends, and others around me. I’ve been lucky to have many wonderful examples who have taught me that thinking of others and their needs before our own is the best way to live your faith. This is a constant work in progress, but my faith is strengthened when see others find happiness.
