Hi I'm Tilleea

I am a wife and a mother of 4. I have the best parents ever. I am Mormon. I love to repurpose stuff and I can't pass up a bargain!

About Me

I am a wife and mother of 4 children. I LOVE photography and try to capture the precious moments in life. I hope to make it a profession someday, but right now I am focusing on raising my children. I love being a mom! It is hard work, changing diapers, helping kids with homework, being a cook and sweeping crumbs off the floor 5 times a day, and trying to teach them values and morals in the mix. But there is NOTHING more rewarding! Recently I have found the art of repurposing. I love finding old run down items and bringing new life to them. I also enjoy finding a good bargain. Whether it's home decor, clothing or food, getting a deal is my kind of thing!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born as a mormon, and as a child I went to church and church activities regularly. My parents divorced when I was in high school and, mixed with normal teenage rebellion, I stopped living the gospel fully. When I went to college I stopped going to church, and I did what I wanted. Only problem was that I was miserable. I was angry. I was confused. One night as I was sitting in my car I remember saying out loud to myself, "There has got to be more to life than this. Think of the last time you were happy." Instantly a flood of memories came to me. Memories of hanging out with friends while enjoying good clean fun. Laughing with my family. A million and one church activites, where I felt the Spirit. Memories from the time when I was living the gospel. I started going back to church. And as I started living the commandments, I could truly recognize the Lord's blessings in my life. Throughout my life I have seen and experienced the healing power of the atonement, and am grateful for the gospel and a Savior that understands we are NOT perfect.

How I live my faith

I LOVE being involved in the church. Right now I am a cub scout leader. I know, I know, the "mormon" church didn't create the scouting program, but it does support it. And for good reason...the scout program helps boys find their interests, build self esteem and leadership skills, teaches them core values and they have fun doing it too! I love when my own cub scout child "promises to do his best"! I am so glad to be involved in such a great program. I also participate in a program (called visiting teaching) that assigns each woman in the church other women (usually between 2-4) to visit on a monthly basis. This helps me get out of my comfort zone and meet new women that I may not have anything in common with. It helps me feel unified and that I have an extened family right in the community. In fact, I met one of my best friends, who is about 20 years older than me, through this program. I wonder sometimes if I would have ever met her, let alone visit with her, if I hadn't been participating in this program. The church has many programs, manuals, lessons, as well as lots information on the web for all ages. I feel that if I (or my family and friends) have questions on particular subjects, we can easily find direction and answers with study of these materials and through prayer. I love participating and being active in the church. Each Sunday I have the opportunity to attend church and be uplifted and inspired and encouraged to be the best I can be. But it doesn't stop there. Throughout the week I often receive emails/phone calls about enriching activites, opportunites to serve others, or tips on how to be self reliant. The church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints makes me HAPPY, gives me a sense of self worth, and helps me understand what this life is all about.
