Hi I'm Melissa Wells

I'm a BYU sports fanatic. I'm an appreciator of art. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm from a small town in New Mexico where I grew up my whole life. I am the youngest of seven and I love everything about being a part of a big family. This past April I graduated with a BS degree in Exercise and Wellness from Brigham Young University. I learned so much and had a lot of fun, which also explains me being a fanatic about BYU sports. I currently live in Arizona with one of my sisters, her husband, and four children. I work as a Certified Nurse Assistant with a girl that has cerebral palsy and help nanny for a family of 6 with triplet 5 month old boys. I love anything that deals with the arts, including music, dancing, painting, and drawing. I'm not artistic myself but I enjoy other peoples talents. I like to read just about any good book. I also enjoy being in nature, whether it be hiking, camping, or just taking a walk. One thing I really enjoy doing is playing sports plus it keeps me active.

Why I am a Mormon

You'd think that being born and raised a Mormon, and attending church every Sunday would explain why I'm a Mormon, but it doesn't. When I was younger I remember my dad telling me that he had prayed to find out for himself if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was true and if the Book of Mormon was true. He said that when he prayed he was told that he already knew the answer that it was true. I decided that it was time for me to ask and so I did. When I prayed I didn't see angels and there were no trumpets sounding to answer to me. Instead like my dad I had this calming feeling with the the answer, you already know it's try. I'm a Mormon because every time I pray, read the Book of Mormon or Bible, and every time I attend church or go to the temple the Holy Ghost testifies to me again and again that it's true. I'm a Mormon because I know Jesus Christ came to earth and paid my debt with His blood and flesh. I know He rose the third day and lives today. I'm a Mormon because I know God the Father and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith to restore the church that existed when Christ was here with prophets and apostles. I'm a Mormon because I know God talks to His children and miracles happen. I'm a Mormon because the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the only true church on the earth today.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by playing an active role in my ward. I plan activities for my ward to help bring us closer to each other and to Christ. I coordinate with the Bishop and other members to find the needs of people in the ward and in the community and I try to help meet those needs through activities. I live my faith by trying to be an example of charity by reaching out to the elderly through an adopt-a-grandparent program.
