Hi I'm Barbara

I'm a Mormon. I am a wife, mother and grandmother. I work as a nurse in the neonatal intensive care unit of a local hospital.

About Me

I am a wife, mother and grandmother. I love my family and enjoy the time we spend together. I work as a nurse in the neonatal (newborn) intensive care unit. My patients are very small and very ill and the families are understandably stressed. It is a rewarding yet challenging career. My belief in God and His love for all of His children helps me cope with these difficult situations. My hobbies include hiking and other outdoor activities. I also sew and enjoy making quilts for my grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (a Mormon). But that is not why I am a Mormon today. I choose to be involved in the Church because the gospel of Jesus Christ brings me joy and peace. Through life experiences I have learned that my Savior loves me and will comfort me when life is hard. The hymns we sing teach this simple doctrine of Christ’s gospel. “Our Savior’s love shines like the sun with perfect light, As from above it breaks through clouds of strife. Lighting our way, it leads us back into his sight, Where we may stay to share eternal life." (hymn #113)

How I live my faith

Throughout the years I have had many opportunities to serve in the church. I especially enjoy working with the youth and watching their testimonies blossom as they study the scriptures and learn the gospel of Jesus Christ. They are truly inspiring. I also have grown to love the music of the church. As a musician I have had numerous opportunities to share my abilities and have been blessed for it.
