Hi I'm Joyzelle

I was born and raised in Mesa AZ. I love family, performing with my children and creating quilts. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Lives pieced together, stitched with smiles and tears, Colored by memories and bound by love. My husband and I have been married for over 30 years. We love family! We have been blessed with a large family of 10 kids and 7 grandchildren. There is no place we would rather be than somewhere with one of our kids. We love playing with them, teaching them, watching them and learning with them. We also love to perform puppets with them. This is a hobby and a business that we have done with our family as we have raised them. While raising a large family can be a little hectic, loud and crazy at times it also is so fun! A favorite saying of mine is....."We may not have it all together but together we have it all!" Besides raising our family, I love to sew and create using fabric. Right now I especially enjoy creating quilts. I love the new things I learn with each quilt I make.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a Mormon. I have always felt, even as a young child, an internal peace and happiness as I follow that path set out by Jesus Christ and his example. As I have grown older, I have come to appreciate the guidelines and framework that I have to follow through the teachings of the church. I love knowing that God is a loving and caring Heavenly Father who wants all of us, to return home to live with him again. I am so thankful for the Savior Jesus Christ and his gift of grace through the atonement that makes it possible for me to return home to heaven. I love having a plan and a clear path to follow in my life. It helps me to know that my time here on earth has a purpose and plan. Now is a time for me to learn, grow and become the best me that I can be. To become more like the Savior. As a mother it is so helpful having this clear and understandable guideline and framework for teaching my children. I love how as I teach, is is not just my voice they hear, teaching them these things, but everything is backed up by scripture and church leaders. It makes raising teenagers so much easier to have all this help and clear path for them to choose for themselves to follow.

How I live my faith

In our community I love performing puppets with our family. We use a wide variety of puppets from hand puppets to full body puppets with many different styles from marionette, bunraku,or own special style of Puppetry called performance puppetry and even some ventriloquism. We enjoy seeing the smiles on the faces of our audiences as we sing and dance with our puppets. Within the church I especially enjoy working with the youth (ages 12-18). Currently I am working with the young women and have so much fun with them. They are full of life and are just fun to be around. At this age they are deciding who they are, what is important to them and what they want to be. I enjoy seeing them make important decisions for themselves that will not only affect them now but also in their future.
