Hi I'm Brooke

I'm a crafting, photography-loving, happily married newlywed who loves to cook and spend time with family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Southern California, but now live in colorful Colorado. I enjoy crafts, blogging, photography, drawing and painting, baking and cooking, going to the beach when I can, Martha Stewart magazines, Disneyland, party planning, attending weddings, country music, watching sports, and of course going to church. I love my husband, family, coupons, autumn, a yummy steak meal, Christmas day, date nights, dressing up as Disney characters for Halloween, temples, celebrating the holidays with family, my anniversary, road trips, my Iphone, and my temple recommend. My husband and I got married in 2010 and we were able to get sealed in June of 2011. We are patiently waiting to become parents to a sweet child of God, but for now, we are enjoying each other's company, learning more about each other, traveling, going on dates to the movies or having a blockbuster snuggle night, visiting the zoo, and historical landmarks.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church but my parents were both converts to the church. They taught me about Jesus Christ and the importance of setting good moral standards for myself. However, I became inactive when I was around 18 but truly regret all the blessings I could have recieved from attending. I'm thankful for my Savior, Jesus Christ, because I am able to repent of things I have done wrong and be forgiven of them. I also believe the commandments of our Heavenly Father are only there to help us and direct us to have happy and successful lives. I know The Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints to be true, because I have prayed about it. I know our Heavenly Father wants to hear from his childen and he will listen and answer our prayers.

How I live my faith

I live my life trying to follow my Savior's example. I try to find the best in people, forgive, and love more. I attend church with my husband and family every Sunday. I teach the young women (16-17 year olds) and I absolutely LOVE IT. They have changed my life tremendously. At first I didn't want to teach because I felt like I didn't know enough since I was inactive for so many years. I tried talking myself out of it many times and was getting ready to quit! The day I was actually thinking of quitting, I got a letter in the mail from one of the young women in my class. The young woman said this at the end of her letter, "Thank you for accepting the call to teach our Laurel class because, even though you may not think so, you are changing my life! I truly appreciate your service and example." That made me realize that I WAS making a difference in someone's life and they appreciated everything I did. I never questioned my calling after that! I love spending time with my husband and family and we try our best to put a day aside (Monday's) to spend time with each other. We have family night (family home evening) which includes, a church hymn, an opening prayer, a lesson, activity, and refreshments (yummy!).
