Hi I'm John

I speak Chinese, Spanish, Portuguese, and Guarani. I love my God, my family, motorcycles, spearfishing, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband, father of two wonderful kids, a veteran of the Army (HOOOAAAHHH!!!), and federal employee. I have a BA in Physics and a Global MBA but am still moonlighting in school studying management and psychology. I love to be with my family and spending time outdoors. I love anything with a motor that is fast. Snow skiing and surfing are me and my son's favorite things to do. My wife rocks and makes me a better person through her honesty and loving expectations. My daughter is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. She melts my heart every time I see her since the day she was born. I love God and country and work every day to protect the sacred freedoms we enjoy. My single most desire in life is that my family remain together and safe.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church and am grateful that my parents faced the challenges their own lives successfully to provide a safe and whole home where I could grow up feeling secure. I spent a short time away from the church during my teenage years. A complete stranger asked me one day when I was 19 years old if I believed in God. My response was a pitiful statement that I always had but was not acting like I did. That day I felt called to return to the faith and prepare to serve God for the remainder of my days. I love the guidance that the Gospel of Jesus Christ provides its followers. The peace and happiness that comes from having sound family relationships and sound living standards is indescribable. The hardtimes that come from time to time are given scope and context when one knows the overall plan that God the Father has prepared for our benefit. My membership in this church gives me hope, joy, peace, community, and an overall desire to follow Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I lead a group of male members of similar age in the church. We provide service to the families in the church for whatever need they have. We meet on Sundays to learn the truths of the Gospel and discuss the application of the scriptures in our lives. We have sponsored service projects and even organized fish fry and Gumbo boils just to have fun. The brotherhood we experience is enhanced by helping each other in the good and the bad times. We strive to emulate the Savior in his unfailing love and devotion to our neighbors.
