Hi I'm John

I am a High Altitude Himalayan Hiker, I am a Trumpeter, I am a brother, I am a College Student, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have loved to go Mountain hiking since I have been very young. I love the feeling of sitting on the ridge of that mountain at 2:00AM and watching the sunrise. I always go with my family when I have the chance and it is a good way for us to all bond. My family and I have very close ties to the country of Nepal and have been treking there. I am the oldest of 5 brothers. Music is a good way of expressing myself. I love to play the trumpet and piano. The trumpet is a very fun instrument which brings alot of joy to me. I love to play relaxing and classical music on the piano. I was in the Marching Band since 6th grade and playing all kinds of music. I am return missionary who served in the Japan Tokyo Mission. I can speak Japanese and love the Japanese people and culture. I currently am studying Business Information Systems at Brigham Young University and preparing to do an MBA in grad school. I love my life and see the many blessings the Lord has granted me every day!

Why I am a Mormon

The center message of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is "Jesus Christ". There was a time in my life when I came to know that Jesus Christ was my savior. When I sang the song, "I know that my Redeemer Lives," A light filled my soul with the greatest joy. I felt within my heart that I knew that Jesus Christ is my savior, my redeemer, "my rock and salvation." I have the desire to live how Christ would want me to. Every day that I live the Gospel of Jesus Christ, my soul, joy, progression, and understanding of gods love and plan for us continues to grow. I know that God lives and that He loves all of us. I know that Christ is always there to bear us on. I love listening to the Josh Groban song, "You Raise Me Up," Because it makes me think of Christ who carries each of us across stormy seas. I know that Christ desires that for us. If you are looking for a religion that has substance, brings meaning, and fills the gaps that are so prevalent in your life, then I would highly recommend this one. It is centered on Christ , his sacrifice, and most of all his atonement for mankind.

How I live my faith

My dream is to use the blessings that the Lord has given me, and use them to bless and help other people. In Nepal we were able to go to many hospitals and orphanages. I really have a deep respect and honor for the Sherpa people. As a missionary I am feeling the greatest love for the Japanese people that I serve among. I have successfully learned how to use chopsticks Yay! I speak their language, I am taking in the culture. In this time, I have made true and everlasting friends. I was one of the missionaries that was in the recent Japan Earthquake. We went up the Sendai, Japan and helped some of the locals there. We were able to repair a Shinto Shrine and I came to have a great respect for the priests of that shine. The spirit of brotherhood and love was there. It feels very good to serve and help others. I am greatful for all the opportunities I have had to be able to my beliefs with other people. I honor and respect other peoples beliefs.
