Hi I'm Kathy

I am a mom and grandma and a volleyball official for high schools around the Phoenix East Valley and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was a teenager in the 50's, and I think it was the greatest era to be raised in. A fun happy time just like some movies and TV programs have portrayed, at least for me. It was all about the amount of under-slips you put under your skirts! Wow! No worries! I loved high school and attended 1 year of college, when I decided that I needed to travel. I spent 3 months travelling around Europe with 3 of my best friends. We drove brand new Austin Healy convertibles that we purchased in England. I got married soon after I returned and we have 5 wonderful children and 20 grandchildren. I enjoyed playing tennis for 25 years until my knees gave out! My life has been extraordinary because of the support of a terrific family!

Why I am a Mormon

I was a free spirit in my teens, and loved life, but I was certainly headed for a path in life that would take me away from my values and my faith. On my trip to Europe, I experienced some scary things that brought me to the realization that I was on the crossroads of my life and needed to make a decision which way to go. I was very unhappy with myself most of all, and really wanted to change my life. I prayed one night all night long, and when the sun was coming up in my bedroom window, I had my answer and my resolve to jump onto the right path. I promised my Heavenly Father that I would follow Him always no matter what. I have tried to keep that promise, and He has kept His by giving me blessings beyond measure!

How I live my faith

My life is enriched by my attendance every Sunday when I can hear the word of God and meet together with friends that have the same values as myself. I love my neighbors and our community and try to support programs they create. I have worked on political campaigns by making phone calls and placing signs, and always vote in every election. I have served my community in various ways, along with my service with the people in my church. I love to serve and when I feel a little down or depressed, I find someone that can use my help. I have taught and been involved with the youth in our country and know that many are preparing themselves to be the future leaders. We are in good hands!
