Hi I'm Karen.

I live in the Arizona Desert and I love the warmth and sunshine. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a Mom of 6 and a Grandma of 14. Those kids are my pride and joy. I really enjoy cooking and reading books about cooking. I really get excited watching the Food Network and coming up with new ideas and recipes to try out. On a hot day my favorite thing to do is to float on a raft in our pool and read a good book. My best friend is my husband, I could do just about anything with him, or absolutely nothing at all if he is by my side. We are both retired, so we get to spend a lot of time together. I really love to entertain. I'll invite people over for just about any reason if it means I can cook for them or we get to play games. A few years ago for vacations my husband and I started going on cruises, they are awesome. We have been on 5, and I look forward to going on number 6, but my husband says we need to wait a while for that one! I love to cruise.

Why I am a Mormon

My family joined the church in the 1830's, so I have gone to church my entire life. When I was 8 years old I decided to be baptized. As I grew I let myself question and challenge this choice but have realized it was the smartest decision I have ever made. At age 17 I read the Book of Mormon and received an undeniable witness that it was true. By living the teachings of the gospel my life is wonderful. I know who I am, I am a daughter of my Heavenly Father and I know he loves me. By being a Mormon I know I will be with my husband and family in the next life and live in the presence of my Heavenly Father. I am a Morman because it is what the Lord wants me to be.

How I live my faith

I keep the commandments and try to be an example to my children and grandchildren. I pray for guidance and comfort and thank the Lord for my blessings daily. I accept callings in the church. Right now I am teaching the Gosple Principles class in Sunday School. It teaches non members and new members and gives a refresher course to any member about the very basic's of what we believe. It is such an awesome class to be in each week. To learn to simple truths of who we are and wht we stand for. I love to teach and serve in the church. I also live my faith serving others by doing simple things like visiting them or giving rides or meals or taking someone a dessert. Also my husband and I live our faith by working one day a week in the Mesa Arizona Temple as ordinance workers. There we help those that come to the temple to have the best experience possible. When the Gilbert Arizona Temple is finished we will be working there instead.
