Hi I'm Mike

I grew up in So. California. I'm a husband, a father, a special education teacher, a surfer, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Southern California and developed a great love of the ocean and surfing. My passion for surfing led me to attend college in Hawaii, where I met my wife, discovered a love of teaching, and surfed a lot! I have a wonderful wife and 5 year old son. I lived in England for 2 years as I served as a missionary for the Mormon church. My favorite thing to do is to travel with my family and spend time with them. I now live in Arizona with my family and work as the Special Education Department Chair at a high school.

Why I am a Mormon

Having been raised as a Mormon, I was taught the principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ from my youth. The teachings of the church always 'made sense' to me, but it wasn't until my later teen-aged years that I began to truly study the Book of Mormon and pray about it to find out for myself that this book and the things I had been taught all my life were true. As a result of this, I received personal a witness from the Holy Ghost that all the things I had been taught are true! I am a Mormon because I know that this is Jesus Christ's church on the Earth today and that it has been restored in its fullness. I know that through following the teachings of Jesus Christ, I can return to live with my Heavenly Father and I can be with my family forever. We have a Heavenly Father that loves us and knows each of us personally as one of his children. I am a Mormon because of the testimony I have of the love that our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ has for each of us.

How I live my faith

Although I fall far short of being perfect, I try to follow the perfect example that Jesus Christ set for each of us. One thing that I strive to do is maintain a close relationship with my Heavenly Father through service, scripture study, and prayer--I have learned to rely on Him for guidance and comfort and help; most of all, I have learned to appreciate all the things that he has blessed me with in my life. I pray to have His Holy Spirit with me as I go about my daily activities. I work hard to be the best husband and father that I know how to be. I strive to be a good neighbor and citizen. Through church service, I visit families and individuals to help strengthen them and look for opportunities to serve them. I am a teacher at church and enjoy sharing the the teachings of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others. As much as anything else, I strive to be a good example to others at all times and in all places.
